I previously had another company in to clean my chimney. I have a wood stove and immediately the fellow said he couldn't clean it, went on to say that it was in code violation, I need a liner a cleanout box, this without going on top of the roof. I called A1 quality chimney (NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH A1 MECHANICAL CHIMNEY SERVICE!) referred to me by a colleague at work who has used them for 25 years. Rick came today and did a detailed inspection, used several different rods from the exterior of the chimney and also inside. He had no problem cleaning it out, also confirmed my chimney is in great shape no need at this time to spend extra money for nothing. He was very patient answering all my questions in regards to the fear that TOP HAT put forth. Not a doubt in my mind now that my chimney is safe. I will use them every year to clean my chimney.

My neighbours were having their ducts cleaned by this company, I asked how much and was suprised to hear how reasonable their prices were. I also noticed over the years how often I saw their truck at many residences, so I thought I would give them a try. Colin was exceptional - I asked questions with every process and he took the time to explain it all to me. As well I heard all the dust and garbage coming out of my vents. I am extremely happy I cancelled the other company which was $150 more. I will use Ontario Duct cleaning every 3 to 4 years as suggested by Colin. GREAT SERVICE FOR A REASONABLE PRICE!

I called Top Hat to have my chimney cleaned, I explained in the call that I have a wood stove. The fellow came and said they didn't tell him it was a wood stove. He looked at the stove and said it was impossible to clean because of the 45 degree angle from the stove pipe to the chimney. He did not inspect the chimney, he said I need to have a cleanout installed before it can be cleaned and a liner. He would take the report in to the office and someone would come and give me a quote. He also stated my fireplace was unsafe to use. They charged me $78.00 dollars for absolutely nothing Today I had another company in, wett certified, had no problem cleaning the chimney which he said was very clean to begin with. I wouldn't recommend this company at all. They may have more positives then negatives...up to you to take a chance.
