They're not the cheapest, but there's a reason for that! I was looking for a roofing company to completely re-roof my house and so I got quotes from multiple companies. One of those companies was Firon Roofing. The whole process of getting a quote, finalizing the quote and having the job carried out was first class. To start with, a few of the companies I contacted wouldn't accommodate my schedule and only offered quotes at 9am or 1 pm Monday to Friday. So if you're like me and have a regular job you'd either have to take time off work just to get a quote or have them come by when you're not home and leave a folder in the mailbox with a price and a while bunch of reading material. When I contacted Firon though, Mike was pleased to come by in the evening after I got home from work and provided a range of options at different price points and explained the differences in detail. I ended up going with the GAF Golden Pledge installation option that offered the longest workmanship warranty in the industry at 25 years. Firon is one of only four roofers in Ottawa that can offer it. The great service didn't stop at the quote either, the installation crew lead by Karl was top notch too. Karl and his crew showed up on time, introduced themselves and got right to work. They were all very polite, courteous and professional. They were always a pleasure to deal with even after working 13 hours a in the blazing hot sun in +33°C weather for two days straight! It was easy to see that they take pride in their jobs and in doing things right. Great job guys!

While living in Osgoode, I had WO Stinson regularly deliver my heating oil. I never had any issues and they were great to deal with. They insured that we never ran out even in the dead of winter.

Has Parent do a conversion from electric baseboard heating to a completely new natural gas forced air system including air conditioning. The end result was a decent job, but we only found out a year later while having the annual maintenance done that they didn't setup the system properly and it was only functioning at 40%. We thought the upstairs bedrooms weren't being heated or cooled properly due to the indirect duct routing necessitated by the retrofit. After the proper adjustments, the system worked much better. Oh and during the install, my wife caught one of the guys standing on the arm of my couch instead of a ladder. He ended up breaking the arm but my wife his it from me for a couple of months so it was too late to try and get the company to replace it.

Didn't know when I signed the contract that they don't use their own employees. They sent a young subcontractor to do the entire job and he did a decent job with the roof, but not so much with the new skylight installation. It took him 2 weeks to build a 3 foot high skylight tunnel and drywall it. His excuse for why it was taking so long was that he couldn't get a hold of his drywall guy to finish the job. He ended up 'finishing' it himself and it looked like someone that's never worked with drywall did it. Ridiculous! The company wouldn't correct it, so I had my own drywall guy fix it. Quite disappointed!

There were animals living in the attic of our new house and they tore up all the insulation and used it as their bathroom for what looked liked years. O'Reilly Bros came in, empties the attic, sanitized it, added two inches of spray foam and the topped up with loose fill insulation to bring the R value up to at least R50. They did a great job, were clean and professional.

I had JD Swallow replace the entire HVAC system including ERV and hot water tank. They did a great job and the customer service is excellent. They're the only HVAC company I let work on my system.
