Tony and his team took the job to install my roof. The job contract was signed on 3/30/2021. On the very on set, the day you finished the job, the next day, I noticed a crack in one of the bedroom (we dont use it). I brought the matter to Tony regarding the cracked ceiling, first his reaction was it was a water damage. I told him there is no water mark, then Tonys explanation was its not his employees fault and the crack was there from before. My response to Tony was your employees either stepped or dropped something heavy on the ceiling, hence, you need to repair the crack (cost was $350), patch and paint. Tony said dont worry about it, I will send a drywall person to fix it. For six months he continued with same dialogue it will be fixed and it was never addressed by him.
I gave up on Tony and repaired the ceiling.
Next, Tony said I have contract agreement but he will send me a warranty paper which never arrived till date (more than year). I called and texted him on warranty paper but no response from him.
Third, last week my wife noticed one or two shingles are off tracked from their place. I called Tony and he came to inspect shingles but he said its the leaf guard that is out of place. He also said chimney vent cover is missing; and its important to put the cover or water will enter inside the house. Moreover, both the issues is not part of his roof work or under his warranty and its my responsibility to pay and fix it. I asked Tony to give me an estimate to put a cap and fix the leaf guard. The estimate he gave was $1100. I told him you changed the roof for us for $9,000, why was he asking so much!? His response was it is a business strategy as I gave bad review to my neighbour about his company. My response was you broke my ceiling and you refused to fix it, so I told my neighbour about your after sale service. Anyway I decided not to repair the leaf guard with Tony. After a few minutes Tony texted me and threatened me saying if I fix the leaf guard with other company, my warranty will be canceled. Attaching his text for your perusal.
Hi mister this is Tony from four seasons roofing inc just to let you know if any other company do any work on your roof it means that your no longer will be on the warranty from our company thank you for trusting four seasons roofing inc
My response was
If anyone else fixes the leaf guard, it's not your roof.. and you said the leaf guard is not your problem!
Then Tony text me again
If anyone go on the roof and do any work it automatically out off warranty from our company and you can do anything you want have a good one
I called a company to get a quote on chimney cap. The company googled (it was 2011 photo) my roof, the person whom I was talking to said the photo he is seeing is 10 years old and since than my chimney cap is missing. And it is not absolute necessity to put a cap. On hearing my leaf guard issue, the company said most likely the screws are loosen and tightening up will solve the problem. The companys estimate was $195 plus taxes and leaf guard screws tighten is free.
Now you tell me, the issues I am having problems are not part of your roof job or affects the warranty and the paperwork is still missing. To fix the leaf guard and chimney vent cap, now I have to pay five times more to fulfill your business strategy! More to it, Tony is threatening to void the warranty if I use other company to fix leaf guard and to put a chimney cap.
Also I found Tonys behaviour is rude, obnoxious, and not professional.
Thanks
Nadim
