Beware of cost. Review CAREFULLY what you sign. Apparently it doesn't matter what you understand the price is. If you don't read the document, you may be in for a surprise as I was. What was originally suppose to be a $69 fee to visually inspect the work that needed to be done, turned into what I thought was a $179 fee to open up the drywall to really look at it. I agreed to $179, but it was actually $179 per hour!! So, it cost me over $300 for them to just give me a quote. What makes it worse is that I had just spent $8000 on floor drains with them in the basement. I questioned the price when I handed over the credit card but I paid it regardless thinking that I could resolve it with the office. Not so. When I called the company to dispute this, they said "you signed the paper", why was I saying this after the fact (fyi: I said it to the service guy when I saw the amount on the cc machine but being a nice person I just accepted it at the time with the intention to speak to the office). Totally unimpressed with this. They won't apply this amount to the cost to do the work (which would have been the case if I only paid the $69 which I was told when they booked the appt). The quote to do the work is $1500 plus I still have to pay the $300. This paid fee won't be deducted from the cost of the work. Had I not done any previous work with them I may not be so angry about this, but since I had just given them a lot of business, I find this crazy. They said that they may be able to do something if I proceed with the work but in my opinion, they should reimburse me the disputed amount regardless. This does not make me want to do any further work with them. This is really unfortunate as I was happy with the drain work that they did in the basement, but very unhappy with how they handled this situation. So triple check what you are agreeing to.

Company Response

**DT** It is unfortunate to have received this review from you. Despite being verbally given the price as well as signing off on it as acceptance to proceed, you claim to have misunderstood the price to open your walls, assess and then provide a quote. It seems you also misunderstood when calling our office after the fact, because as an appreciated repeat customer, it WAS offered to lessen the difference from what you thought the cost of service was, from the cost of the quoted work. You say you thought the cost would be a flat $179 + hst, not $179 + hst per hour to open the drywall, and you were charged for 1 ½ hours of service, which is $268 + hst, so a difference of $89 + hst is what we offered to deduct from the quote once proceeding. This would have restored the cost of services and quote to what you thought them to be, but you declined, holding out for a reimbursement, however; a reimbursement for approved services rendered, after the fact, is not possible. Services, unlike a material product, cannot be returned. If you do wish to take us up on our offer, please call our office to proceed. We would be delighted to hear from you.
