After thoroughly researching better quality and high end wall ovens and going to literally every larger appliance store in the Lower Mainland, I (once again) found that Trail Appliances not alone had the best price available on the product I ended up buying, but also that they were completely forthcoming with any and all information regarding the various types of ovens on their floor, and spent all the time it took with me to help answer my questions, and then finally, work out a price for this large and important purchase. Over the last 15 years and many appliance replacements (from what came with our older home), I have constantly found Trail to have the best selection, customer service, and pricing in the lower mainland. A few months after the purchase and installation of my new oven, there was a problem with a special roll-out rack and the sales rep that I dealt with went out of her way to assist me in obtaining a replacement part, even to the extent of giving me the local manufacturer rep's number so I could talk directly to that person.

After many years pruning trees and hedges on our property myself, my back told me it was time to hand off most of the job. After experimenting with various firms (trying desperately to avoid the "Me Too" tree hackers), I decided to get Bartlett a try as my girlfriend who works for Burnaby indicated that it was that municipality's choice for doing major tree work. Bartlett are arborists, therefore they have proper training in how to trim and cut back trees in order to promote healthy growth (rather than creating a huge mess or leaving you with ugly stumps!). Their estimator came out (for free) and spent time with me while I talked about my philosophies in how I wanted the trees and hedges on my property to be maintained, and how selectively pruning trees to maintain certain boundaries was as much an art as it was a learned skill. I was also concerned that their should be careful of the various perennial plantings that were near the various trees and hedges they were to work on (meaning, don't crush or mangle them!). I was very pleased with the crew that came, they expertly worked on the various trees and shrubs, and the ground person did a very good job cleaning up as they went. They even came with a lift-truck in order to get at some hedges that were in an awkward position, but available from the street edge. Although they are not as inexpensive as some of the smaller one-man firms that run around dealing for cash jobs (that, no surprise, end up looking horrible and leave you with clean-up and collateral damage) you are getting excellent value for your money. Oh yeah, and they don't expect payment until the customer is happy with the job - which means an invoice in the mail for you, and if there are any problems, call them and they will deal with it before you pay. Outstanding.

Wespac has been my go-to electrical company for some 13 years now, having installed various electrical/electric-convection heating systems for our 30 yr old home, as well as rerouting some electrical wiring and installing wiring for a new ceiling fan in our MBdrm (and the unit itself) which is an absolute life-saver. Kurt's professional and polite customer service, their free in-home estimates (unlike other contractors - the free estimates that is) and his dedicated follow-through with customers makes dealing with this firm pleasant (and pleasant seems to be an oxymoron these days with 'contractor' in the same sentence!). The gentleman who has several times now come to our home to work in our attic, crawl space and living area is cheerful, polite, on time and extremely talented. He takes the time to tarp and protect areas, clean up, as well as wearing a 'clean suit' and booties so undesireable material is not tracked all over my home. I would highly recommend Wespac for any electrical work.

Everything about Precision Gutters worked out right - a great quote on solid product, good colour selection that would match our home's colours, and when it came time to install, an amazing quality job by Sean who managed to work around some unique circumstances with our newly installed DaVinci Roof. Their company was not satisfied with installing the usual number of hangers to support the gutters, but uses better quality and more frequently spaced hangers to support gutters, which turned out to be EXTREMELY important that winter with a record snowfall which could have seen us lose all of our new gutters - luckily we only had one small section fail, and this was not due to the gutters, but to our lack of knowledge that we would need snow jacks on our new roof to prevent 'avalanching' snow, and with a record snowfall, it mangled about 10 feet of gutter. After winter was over, Sean came out and expertly replaced the damaged gutter, checked the integrity of all the other gutters (no problems there) and then installed additional hangers in the portion that was damaged, it is in a critical location in case snow ever avalanched again. I would instantly recommend this company, and ask for Sean to do your install!

Extreme Weather replaced our aging cedar shake roof with a product we had chosen which was new to them as installers - but took the time and effort to to learn how to apply an (extremely expensive)faux-shake product called DaVinci to our roof properly. They do not use lesser-quality materials in order to come in under someone else's quote and on the job all the crew were pleasant, polite and cleaned up daily after their work. Any problems encountered on the jobsite were dealt with immediately by Brad & Dave. A year later they were called back to install snow roof-jacks and also did an excellent job. I do not lightly recommend contractors, I sincerely recommend Extreme Weather.
