We've purchased a customed dining table set from Geovin Furniture located near Yorkdale mall. They have a huge selection of furniture that you can view from their website or shop. Carlo is very professional and has a lot of knowledge about his work. He also has a great sense of style and was willing to help us select matching wood color/stains and fabric materials when we presented to him our floor and wall colors! We've placed our down payment and we received our furniture within the time frame they mentioned. The movers were very considerate (shoe coverings) and "installed" our table (it came in pieces) very quickly. The table is very sturdy and nicely matches our home's style, thanks to Geovin's recommendation of coloring and fabric for our chairs. We'll likely try purchasing their other furniture in the future!

We've contracted Andy and his team to gut and renovate our second floor washroom and covered some duct work in our new home. We also had them covered some duct work with dry walls, painting, installed some new doors and installed base boards. I'll summarize the work in each category: Bathroom: They've done a remarkable job in the washroom and it looks beautiful. However, 6 months later, the ceiling paint is already falling off and some of the grout used to hold the tiles in the bath tub area is falling off. Andy says we used too much hot water and we need to turn the vent on for over an hour to prevent further decay. We've tried to contact him to fix it but he's gone missing ever since we reported the issues. Dry walling: He's pretty good on this. The duct work was covered without issues. Paint: He's OK. Just the cut on the corners aren't so great. Doors: His guys did some custom door frame covers for us because we had an older home that requires bigger covers. It looks great actually. Baseboard: They didn't measure accordingly and there's some huge gaps between the floor and the base board. We complained about it and they used some grout or something to cover it. It looks terrible if you stare at it, otherwise not noticeable. Unless he comes back and fixes our washroom issues, I don't think I'll call him again to do our basement or kitchen later on.

We had a roofing job done by Roofers "R" Us in September 2010. They provided all insurances and workers compensation papers upon request. They also had a strong reference from multiple people and at least one real estate agent (who had her own roof done by them as well!) They came in for an estimate, and they were very honest. They tried to save us costs by reducing the amount of things that needed to be done on the roof. In the end, their quote was one of the cheapest compared to 4 other roofers (we ignored some whose cost seemed too low and fishy). After the job was done, they allowed us to go on the roof and they explained to us the work that was done. They were very informative and thorough. They cleaned up the property of garbage every day before they left. I recommend everyone to use Roofers "R" Us.
