We interviewed 4 contractors before signing on with Bigelow construction. Sam has all the qualities you want in a contractor- super knowledgeable in all areas of construction, proactive communicator, reliable and above all trustworthy. Our project was complicated as our house was built in 1883 and required many structural adjustments. Sam project managed the construction and communicated very well with our architect and engineers. We had high expectations with finishes and design and Sam always took the time to ensure we were happy no matter what. He provided us options for cost savings that didn’t compromise quality. Our project scope kept increasing (as we kept adding to our project)- sam accommodated these requests in a timely manner and with high level of professionalism. Project came within -+ $5k of the initial project quote (aside from our project add ons) which is incredible given the size of the project. Timelines were reasonable as well. The most notable support we received from Sam would be the level of customer service and how much care he put into ensuring we had a positive experience while living through the renovation- he showed up on weekends, snow, middle of night - to take care of anything urgent we needed him for. Bigelow construction will be our go to for all future projects and I recommend Sam without hesitation.

Our house was built in 1883 and has a field stone foundation. There was an inch of water in our basement every time it rained. Daniel and his team at true north underpinning were able to dig out our basement, create a new foundation (which will eventually also support a 3rd storey addition) and water proof the entire space. The guys that worked on the project were some of the hardest working and lovely people I have met in the construction industry. They were on site by 6:30am every morning and didn't stop until the job was finished. My house was left clean and respected the entire time. The final outcome was perfect, came within budget, and finished 1 week sooner than I expected- can't ask for more! I would recommend TNU without any hesitation it has been a nearly perfect experience.
