Blinds to Go has the best selection for blinds that I’ve seen. It’s nice because everything is all in one place the store isn’t that big, but the way it is set up shows you a TON of choices and options for blinds for your home. You can pick and choose styles, textures, and colours from store displays and catalogues. The staff are very knowledgeable and accommodating, as well as have ideas that you might not have thought of. The price is a bit high (I did think at some point that I could have done better if I spent time really looking around at other places), but very much worth it for the superior selection, service, and convenience of having everything right there at your fingertips. My new blinds are now installed and make my living room look like a completely different room (in a good way!)!

Ikea has always been and continues to be great! I hadn’t been in a while, but went there recently just to see what was ‘new’. It was as fun as ever, and I ended up buying tons of little home and ‘decorating’ items – they have great ideas for decorating for the holidays too. This place is extremely busy (especially at this time of year), so definitely give yourself some time and expect a bit of a wait at the checkout, but it’s so busy for a reason – you can’t go there and not buy something! The deals that they offer (these change frequently) are amazing – I couldn’t believe some of the things that they had for sale at incredibly low prices! And so many of their things are so unique I always find stuff there that I know I’m not going to find anywhere else. Ikea is always worth a look!

The Futon Store is a great little spot! I just discovered it, but will definitely go back (as well as recommend to friends). I wandered in there looking for a futon mattress cover (which I found, and am loving so far – great quality, looks very nice on my spare-room futon), and ended up browsing for WAY longer than I intended! I was amazed by all of the futons they had (different types of frames, tons of different kinds of wood, etc.), as well as the incredible selection of mattresses (different materials, varying thickness and firmness, different patterns). Some of them are more comfortable than my living room couches at home! They also have bed frames and other pieces of furniture that can be bought at the store or ordered to match the futon that you choose. The prices seemed competitive (I paid about what I expected for my cover, and the furniture was priced along the lines of what I would expect as well). I’ll definitely keep this place in mind if and when I purchase another futon.
