In June 2010, I had my house re-roofed by Papco Building Supply using steel shingles manufactured by “ Future Roofs “. My roof is large and complex with gables, changes of pitch and an attached lean-to. The existing cedar shingles were 25 years old and obviously needed Replacement’ so I obtained two quotes from local roofers and was considering them when I received a flyer from Papco offering the Future Roof steel shingles. I am cautious about mail offers and out-of-town contractors , But the actual product checked out on the web , so I asked for a quote. Surprisingly , the final price we agreed to , matched the quotes for asphalt shingles while providing a much better roof in a style and colour that were a perfect match for our house; so I accepted the contract. I am an engineer and have built two houses and am aware of what can be hidden by a hastily installed roof, so I watched the roofing crew closely during their first week and asked questions about the installation.After this first week I left them to it as I had confidence in both their ability and their work standards.The initial estimate was to do the job in about a week but it worked out to nearly a month due to not only occasional bad weather, but also to unforeseen problems and repairs with the structure of the old roof .Despite this , the crew made no complaint , continued to work to standard and was very obliging in doing several extra jobs on gutters and the like, at no charge. To summarise; Papco provided a high quality and affordable product with the “ Future Roof “ steel shingles and their roofing crew did an excellent job in their installation. They are a family affair who have worked for Papco for nearly twenty years, I believe. I have worked with many contractors over the years and this crew were likely the easiest I have had to deal with. From my experience with them , I would recommend Papco Building Supply and their roofing crew to anyone requiring a good roof at a great price, and wishing for a pleasant experience during the installation
