Ray was referred to us by a friend, so we had the benefit of seeing the excellent work he had done at their home. However, it wasn’t until we actually met Ray that we were able to determine for ourselves if we could work with him. Ray was one of three contractors we contacted to provide bids for the replacement of the main entrance of our home. From the first meeting he was professional; accommodating; and, no pressure. My wife had mentioned to the two other contractors that she would like to change from a single door with two sidelights to double doors; they had both provided reasons why this was not possible or recommended. Whereas Ray said that it was totally feasible. He then worked closely with us to ensure that what we were ordering was exactly what we wanted; thank goodness for his actual samples because the colour shown in the book was not the colour we wanted. Ray’s price was competitive with the other two prices and the timeline was about the same but due to his accommodating attitude we decided to go with him. It was a good choice. When he received the door, he promptly contacted us to make arrangements for the installation, which went very well. Ray paid great attention to each and every detail at every stage of the installation. He was very careful removing the old door so as not to cause any incidental damage. He took great care to ensure that the frame was installed level, plumb and square. Double doors are tricky – which is why most contractors shy away from them – but he took his time and made the necessary adjustments to ensure that the both doors where properly aligned and fit precisely in the jamb and at the astragal. It was not until everything lined up perfectly that he began to seal the opening. The installation took the full day but the finished result is flawless. Ray was a consummate professional with a “can do” attitude but never the least bit pushy. I expect we will be calling on his services again in the future and have already recommended him to friends.
