When I occupied my last home, there was an existing contract with Protectron ( before ADT ) for a period of 18 months, as I was told by the existing owners. However, I got roped in for approx; 4 years contract period. I sold my residence after approx; 3 years. I was told that the existing contract would have been assumed by the new owners until several days later I was informed by ADT that the new owners were not interested. I was informed by ADT that one year was remaining on my contract that I have to pay for the same. Meanwhile, I discovered that ADT had existing equipment on my new residence, and I was informed that the system would be turned on and utilized for the remaining period of my contract. ADT technician was unable to activate present system, and wanted $1200.00 to install new equipment, which I refused. Yet, they sent me a bill to cover the remaining period of my contract.
