Sears Home is a pretty nice place to shop for furniture. In my opinion, it’s a ‘step-up’ from your ‘everyday’ big-box furniture stores. The quality of stuff there just seems a little nicer than what you find in a lot of other furniture stores (the price does, however, seem to reflect the better quality). I recently went to Sears Home looking for a mattress, and instead came out with a few very nice ‘accessories’ for my home – they have very nice home decorations including plants, mirrors, lamps, vases, etc.). The service staff here just let us wander through, asking once or twice if we needed help with anything, and telling us to let them know if we had any questions (this is my favourite kind of ‘service’ to receive when just browsing – absolutely no pressure and not ‘watchful’ of shoppers). I would recommend Sears Home to anyone looking for new furniture or accessories for decorating – the price is slightly higher than other places, but everything is so nice that most people will probably find something there that they love!

I my opinion, Sleep Country is THE place to buy a mattress. We just had our new one delivered, after several weeks of shopping around. The staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable (really took the time ask about our wants/needs and tried to meet them), the price was right, and the delivery was very timely (delivered within a week of when we bought it). The delivery men were in and out within 10 minutes, and took our old mattress away to give to charity. And we also have a 60-day 'window' within which we can return and exhange the mattress if we're not completely satisfied. The whole thing went very smoothly and we are extremely satisfied and have already recommended them to friends. In fact, I'd recommend them to anyone shopping for a new mattress.
Future Shop recently impressed me when I was shopping for a computer. I hadn’t completely decided yet, but had found one that I kind of liked, which was listed on another company’s website for a better price. Since I didn’t want to travel as far as I needed to for the other place, I thought I’d try Future Shop to see if they could beat the better price. And they did! I approached a ‘floor person’ in the computers department, told him about the other deal, and he looked it up online for me and then said they’d beat it. He didn’t make me feel bad for asking, and even complimented me on my research. Needless to say, I ended up with a great computer a great price. I’ll definitely go back for future electronics purchases.
