I cannot express how happy I am with choosing FinishedBasement. Igor and his team were excellent! Finding a contractor was such a horrific experience, we called many of the top (local) contractors, half would only provide a quote over the phone, a third didn't return our call, etc. One company in particular, Penguin Basement, came and did a thorough review and quote and we were quite pleased. When it came to make a decision, we called, emailed, texted and no response back (this was after a spiel that they are always accessible). Completely deflated we went back to the drawing board looking for contractors on Homestars. I am Glad we did. Here is what I learned in my experience: - Some contractors will budget just for labor and not material (this is a bonus if you wanted to hunt for good deals, but not great because warranty would be null) - Some contractors would ONLY use their materials (much like a homebuilder) - not great if you don't like their options. - FinishedBasements method was ideal for us, they created a budget within departments (i.e., electrical, plumbing etc.) and had a great showroom but we also could shop for those deals (they extended their discounts to us as well). - another big thing was - they're bonded, covered by WSIB, and do the necessary permits. The really impressive stuff about FinishedBasement.ca: - they finished our basement in 2 weeks - workmanship extremely high, workers were friendly, courteous, and tried to keep the job-site as tidy as possible (considering it was a major renovation) - specific/special tradesmen (painters, electrical, plumber - so not general contractor who does everything) - they came every day, on time and were accessible 24 hours. - From sales (Andrij), to design consultation (Natalie), to Igor the electrician, to Igor the owner, they were outstanding. We are so pleased with the overall experience, and are thrilled with our new, modern, comfortable living / entertainment space. We still cant get over the transformation.

Henry was amazing, I HIGHLY recommend this company to plant trees. I planted a Colorado Blue evergreen tree and a Celebrating Maple tree for my new home in the fall. He was quick to respond and answer all of my questions. Henry was reasonable in price (in comparison to other companies) and was very knowledgeable. The process of getting our trees planted was completely painless. What makes their company stand out is that that winter was very very cold, and, unfortunately, our Celebrating Maple died. I emailed Henry one spring/summer evening and the next morning he was at my house inspecting the tree. Right away, he acknowledged that the tree had died and replaced it, hassle free, within two weeks (as he promised). Very honest company with a stress-free process. Hire them, you won't be disappointed. P.s my new maple tree looked gorgeous in the fall.

Nick was awesome through the entire process. The house was under renovation and I had a very tight budget and time line to complete the ceiling. I needed to get this ceiling completed so that my other trades could come in and complete the renovation so that we could move in. I spoke to Nick on Friday, he worked out a quote for me and that Monday his crew came in to do the job. I spoke with many ceiling companies, but Nick was the only one that completed the job with priming and painting. When the job was completed, I did a walk through and it looked great however the morning after I noticed a small bump. Knowing about my timeline, Nick's crew came in the same day and completed it. Nick is someone you can count on, not only did the ceiling turn out great they also came on time, finished on time and didn't waste any time on any repairs. Highly recommend.
