Hi Elaine, in your case the dishwashers user interface was "shorted out" . This is the part that sends your selection of wash cycles to the main electronic board to start the machine and complete the wash and rinse cycles. A little bit pricey for the part, but less expensive than replacing the machine, even though its only 2 years old! And thanks for the review, always appreciated. Warmest regards, Peter P.
