Initially I was very pleased with my pool fill in (Oct. 2015). All the workers were very extremely nice, efficient and the first part of the job was done well.
But the job was finished in a hurry to beat predicted heavy rain and the final loads of soil and sod were laid in darkness. Far too much fill was brought in and some of this dumped in another part of the yard. The rest was put on the previous pool surrounds making it far too high. Some sod was laid over existing flower beds.
Subsidence was evident after the rain and was noticed by Al when he returned to pick up his machinery. He promised to come back first thing in the spring to remove sod, even out the ground and replace the sod. The "warranty" also promises this.
By spring the whole backyard was a disaster. More subsidence, deep wide cracks and a huge variation in levels.
Every time I contacted Al I got excuses. Finally, faced with the loss of my backyard for the whole of the growing season and summer, I was forced to get alternative help.
Also, something is very wrong with the final topsoil. Nothing will thrive in it - plants are stunted and yellowed. I suspect it is non-composted manure which would also explain the explosion of large barnyard type flies that occurred during the first hot weather.
My advice to anyone using TPFIP. Hold back enough of the final payment to cover final landscaping costs.
