I had the floors replaced in my one-bedroom condo- I replaced laminate with carpet in my bedroom and living room, and vinyl tile in the kitchen and dining areas. CFB was one of three quotes I procured, and I decided on them because they were the best price and would move and return my furniture for the lowest fee. It took weeks to get the approval from my building management (that wasn't CFB's fault of course, just an annoyance) and then another almost-two weeks waiting for my chosen carpet to arrive, but when it did, Hudeyi booked me for three days after that arrival and I was thrilled that the crew arrived exactly on time. They did the job precisely as I'd requested and I'm very pleased. The only thing that was a bit disappointing is that the flooring wasn't cleaned afterwards, by which I mean there was a lot of dust and detritus on the tiles that I've had to clean off, and the carpet had a lot of stray fibres. But they did move my appliances back, my king-sized bed, my couch, everything was done as I'd hoped.

I needed a ceiling fan and a light fixture installed. The ceiling fan was a challenge, because it entailed a junction box nowhere near the centre of the room and a solid concrete ceiling to boot. Garrett ably managed to position the fan perfectly with some unobstructive wire cable housing and it works great. I'd hire him again unreservedly.

We needed to have our garage door tuned up and to get a new remote. I called the number that was on the door, not sure the business still existed as the townhouse was built in 2003, and the number didn't even have a prefix, but lo and behold they not only still exist but were also familiar with our 8-unit townhouse complex. Made an appointment and was told I've receive a call "in the morning" and set about expecting I'd be waiting all day, but nope, tech Dustin called me at around 8:30 and arrive about 20 mins later. He was brilliant- reprogrammed the remotes and replaced the batteries, replaced the brackets and cables, put in a new emergency opener red cable thing (what you have to use to open door in case of a power outage), lubed up everything, tightened everything, all in the space of about an hour. The charge of $264 comprises and hour of labour and I also got a new remote so my partner and I both have remotes for getting in and out on our bicycles. I would not ask for better service.

I've used OO twice and am completely satisfied with their performance. They get full marks for being precisely on time, for charging in 15 minute increments and not by the hour, for careful professional disassembly and reassembly of my furniture, and for being clean and neat. I've had nightmare experiences with other movers in this city and this was refreshingly good. I'll add that I used them for two small jobs, most recently to flip two bedrooms, and both have massive, difficult to work with beds and heavy mattresses and the two movers were flying blind as I had not guide for them and both bed frames were very different, so successfully taking one apart and putting it back together in no way clarified how to manage the second. They figured out everything and were in and out of my home in 75 minutes.

We hated the blackout blinds that the previous owners had installed in our townhouse (we moved in June 20 and discovered immediately that jet black is the worst conceivable colour for blinds in Calgary - they absorbed so much heat that they would be burning hot to the touch, unusable) and so I decided to get new blinds. I got visits and quotes from two shops; I went with Interior Design Shoppe even though both quotes were similar, the women who run IDS were immediately responsive and, and this is amazing, talked me out of the more expensive option. They were perfectly punctual at every stage from measurements to very skilled, clean installation and I could not be happier.

Everything was done exactly to spec at exactly the price quoted. Work was done efficiently but not hastily. Every speck of mess was cleaned up. Very, very pleased!
