top load washing machine WTW5500WX0
top load washer bought in 2013, lid lock failed ($117 tax added) and then main computer failed ($418 tax included)...paid $100 to be told by technician to drop the washer on the side of the road...and get another one, because in his opinion, they were a piece of junk not worth putting more money into it...contacted whirlpool for repairs and told nothing will be done because over 1 year warranty...called consumer protection in Quebec and told whirlpool is frequent target of complaints and they have to abide by 5 year legal warranty in Quebec...reminded whirlpool about Quebec 5 yrs warranty, then contacted by the chief consumer care staff who now informs me that whirlpool will pay for parts but not labor...the question is, does Whirlpool knows about the legal warranties in some state and provinces but willfully mislead consumers into believing there is only their, obviously woefully inadequate 1 year warranty?
