Kitchen reno – replacing floor tile
We selected JBG Tile and Contracting to update the floor as part of our recent kitchen reno. Loreto was quick to respond to our inquiry and provide a quote in the initial stages of planning out our reno. Since we were not using an all-in-one kitchen reno company, I had to coordinate the activities of each trade as well as figure out who does what and when. Loreto was great to deal with in terms of his communication and in sharing his experience with other renovations. In fact, I used the electrician and plumber for the job based on Loreto’s recommendation. Both were excellent choices as well. Loreto’s team for the demo work on the old floor and some cabinets was excellent. Finishing the job in less than a day and cleaning up the old under-tile mesh used by the builder. Speaking from experience with two other tile floors, this is a thankless, dirty job and they handled it professionally, as cleanly as possible, and were great to work with. Carlos did the actual tiling, and what a pro he is. Very methodical and careful, he did an excellent job on the floors. I had some concerns about a high spot in our floor that had been there since day one, but with the 24x24 tiles, Carlos didn’t have an issue and constantly checked the level while laying tiles. The transition to our hardwood floors was a bit of a variable because of the height of the old tile versus new, but I replaced the tapered transition hardwood piece and as a result Loreto and Carlos came up with a quick, seamless transition. We sourced our tiles from JBG’s showroom with Loreto’s help. JBG has a great selection of tile options. I would definitely use JBG again.
