3/10

Drainworks was fast and efficient, but after an initial estimate that was surreal ($300 to re-attach a faucet) it went from bad to worse. Almost $500 later to place a $2 valve I was in shock. The plumber was great and nice and smart, but his company's billing rules were just short of mercenary. I will only call in an absolute disaster. the idea that I was paying a premium because all the parts were on the truck was also not true and I paid another $150 for the plumber to go and buy a part. Great plumber, scary business model. Hire a local and then donate $500 to charity in lieu of calling Drainworks is my advice.

Company Response

**Thanks Eric** We would like to shed some light on the service that took place at your home. The cost was $418, we do not keep tax, plus we subtracted the $69 assessment fee from the cost of the job, which you agreed to pay when booking the appointment. Our licensed and insured plumber, whom you yourself refer to as fast, efficient, great, nice, and smart was working on your repair for 2 1/4 hours. Considering the time spent and that the parts were included in the price, this is a very reasonable rate in line with industry standards. The only reason the initial estimate changed was because we were working with the parts you supplied which you tried to install yourself, but they proved to be damaged and could not be used. The alternate would have been to tell you the parts you had were damaged and leave; but rather than leaving you without water, we offered to source the parts for you and made you aware before doing so that there would be a cost incurred, all in an effort to get your water back on. You agreed. We did not put you in a situation where you had no water and then forced you to proceed with our repair. Rather your attempts at DIY left you with no water and you required a plumber for a solution. We did just what you asked for and only after receiving your approval to do so.
