I've hired Doctor Screen twice, most recently to replace the mesh on my screen door. They are prompt, professional and very easy to work with! No complaints whatsoever. I wish all contractors were like this!

Last spring, I had the Tree Doctors straighten a few cedars, which were leaning after the 2013 ice storm. They used rope to pull the trees back into the desired position. Here's the problem: now that my trees are straight, I've removed the rope but noticed it had cut into my trees. I consulted with my father-in-law who has a green thumb (I should have just gone to him in the first place) and he said that by using rope with no padding or rubber hose between the trees and rope - the trees were being "choked" by the rope. This is incredibly harmful to the tree obviously and can even kill it. I can't believe a company that calls itself the "Tree Doctors" didn't know any better. Don't hire them.

This company is a disaster. First of all- do not ever work with Robert, one of their consultant. He blatantly misled me about when my stairs would be installed. I took the day off work and was waiting for the installers to show up only to find out that my stairs hadn't even been made yet. As for the craftsmanship, it's fine but getting the stairs completed was like pulling teeth. Not all the risers were put in at once. They had to come back. When the treads were put in, they had to come back because the carpenter ran out of wood (!) and still had to finish certain areas. That took about three days of waiting. Then when the pickets were installed, they ran out pickets! They had to return the following day to finish that. The experience was beyond frustrating and by far this was the most disorganized company I dealt with for my home reno. They single-handedly delayed my job by a month.

Patrick of PFC Painting and Decorating is not only a great painter but also very professional He's punctual and is always available to answer any questions. He even came in on a Sunday to ensure my home reno was completed by my deadline. As for his actual paint skills, his attention to detail is amazing. The job he did painting my stairs was complicated (split tone stairs- white risers, espresso steps) but he pulled it off perfectly. I also love that most of his painting process actually happens BEFORE any paint is applied. He sands, fills and primes the walls meticulously so that by the time the paint goes on, it looks perfect.
