After dealing with some not-so-great companies over the years I'm so glad I called CoreTemp. Our furnace kept turning off and the house just wouldn't heat up. We had this problem in the late spring and had called another company. We weren't overly confident in what they did, which was just to clean out the fan that wasn't that dirty, but since it was warming up outside by that point we didn't realize the furnace was still having the same issue until we had that cold snap last week. Sure enough our house wouldn't heat again. When we called CoreTemp, based on their great reviews on HomeStars, right from the beginning it was a great experience. Richard asked a lot of questions and we could tell he really cared to get the job done right. Booking was easy and we were promptly scheduled. We also couldn't be happier with their technician Erik. He did a thorough check of all the safety systems on the furnace (something the other company didn't do) and explained everything. Once he found the problem he showed us with the amp reader what was happening so that we could see it too. A couple of adjustments and we are back in business. He even found a lose wire left by the other tech that could have caused our air conditioner to malfunction and fixed that as well. Everything was meticulously documented and explained. We got top notch service for a very reasonable price. From start to finish their service was courteous, professional and friendly. I would highly recommend CoreTemp and will definitely use them again.

We were so upset when our drains backed up only days before Christmas. We didn't know what was wrong and everything smelled like sewage, it was awful. Mister Plumber ended up coming out to do an inspection on Christmas eve! I couldn't believe how fast the service was. I see they advertise they are 365 days/year service with no extra charges for holidays/ weekends and they mean it! Much to our dismay we had major problems with tree roots in 2 places that would require excavation & replacement of the pipe. The did a camera inspection and were able to show and explain exactly what the problem was and what options we had. I did ask around with another plumbing company and people I know in the business and Mister Plumber's price was very good. Through the cold and snow they dug up our front lawn and did the replacement. It was muddy work and they were extremely careful not to track dirt into our house, which I appreciated. They also had to dig in our partially finished basement which involved going through the sub-floor and concrete. I am told our old clay pipes were particularly deep, but despite this they got the whole job done very quickly. They even got the inspector out to sign off on the backwater valve right away, over the holidays! In all everything was done and cleaned up within 3 days and they provided us with all the paperwork and information we needed to submit for the government rebate without me even needing to ask. They were an absolute pleasure to deal with and relieved a lot of the stress of dealing with this unfortunate situation. Big thank you to Vlad and his excellent team!

I was extremely pleased with the service I received from Med Air. We had a bit of trouble securing them a parking spot and they were very patient with us. The duct cleaning itself was fantastic. I can't believe how much dust, lint, dirt and other "stuff" was in our ducts! So gross. If they hadn't shown us what their machine pulled out I wouldn't have believed it. Dave was really great and even did some minor repairs to our ducts that he just threw in. He gave us great advice on maintenance and a couple of small changes we could make to improve our air quality. Thank you Med Air! We will call again.

I've been shopping at Bill's for many years and have found the staff to be helpful and friendly. Some times it can be intimidating because I don't know much about gardening, but at Bill's they are extremely helpful and patient answering all my questions. I will typically spend about $100/ season buying some plants, soil, etc... Bill's is a little more expensive than the big stores, but for quality product and customer service it's really worth it.

Wee Travel were excellent to deal with from start to finish. We had a really last minute rental request for our trip to Victoria and Vancouver and they were more than accommodating. The idea behind this service is amazing! Who wants to travel with all the heavy, cumbersome gear you need with a baby. I was additionally thrilled that they showed amazing customer service and have reasonable rates. I don't know of any other companies doing this, but even if there were I'd stick with Wee Travel because I know I can depend on them!

We called Derek's Tree Service to remove 5 large stumps left from some bushes we took down. These bushes looked like they had been there forever and the stumps had very deep roots. They arrived on time and did a fantastic job removing them. The work was done at the front of our property and the 2 gentlemen that came were very careful not to get dirt on our neighbors cars parked out front (not an easy task!). They were a pleasure to deal with and worked fast. Despite the parked cards hindering their efforts they cleaned up the area very well afterwards. Now we are enjoying our beautiful open front yard. I would certainly recommend Derek's Tree Service to my friends and neighbors.

I was immediately impressed by this store when the owner came out to answer our questions right away when my husband and I were looking at their displays. She was very friendly, helpful and patient explaining the various plants we were looking at. There is another flower shop a few doors down and they may seem like a cheaper option because of the decor of the store, but don't be fooled! When we looked carefully Tony's actually had the better prices and their product is far superior. They have much nicer touches as well like the decorative pots and wrapping. Don't just go to the store that looks less fancy, take the time to compare and you'll find that Tony's is the better way to go.

I must say that my experience with Delroy was nothing short of fantastic. He answered the phone right away, asked me a couple of quick questions and came by the very next day! He knew exactly what the problem was and was happy to explain everything he was doing so that I could learn something about this clunky old dishwasher we inherited and to reduce our need for service calls in the future. He was friendly, courteous and a pleasure to have in our home. I will definitely call him again should anything come up and will recommend him to my family and friends.

We hired Barbara to not only stage our condo but also to manage some small renovations that were required to get our condo ready for sale. She recommended and managed all aspects of the trades and really took the pressure off. We had a really tight deadline and budget and she maintained both! The end result was nothing short of fantastic. Our condo sold within a few days of listing at 100% asking price! There is no doubt that her services were a smart investment that got us a significant return. Barbara really knows her stuff. Thank you so much to her and her team! I'm ashamed to put any before pictures on this review, but believe me she worked wonders with our space.

I was so happy that they could accommodate my small move on the last day of the month with only a week's notice. Right from the beginning the experience was amazing. Steve was accommodating with the booking time and he gave a lot of really valuable advice about how to pack & store to save money and protect our belongings. The 2 movers that came were very courteous and were generally a pleasure to work with. They were very careful with all of our boxes and furniture yet moved really quickly. They even provided us with a replacement box when one of our really old ones (mostly held together with tape!) broke. Everything was going into storage in a family member's garage and it was down an icy and in some parts muddy driveway. Again the movers were careful and everything was put safely in the garage. They also paid close attention to our directions about where exactly things should go. The price in the end was exactly what I was expecting to pay and I am thrilled with the whole service. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing a great moving team. Update: Since this first move we hired Avery Moving again to do our final move into our new house. Even though we were going from a condo to a house the movers had to make an additional stop to pick up all the items from the first move that were in storage. I was so impressed by the movers. They were extremely hard workers and took good care of all of our things. The weather was pretty crummy yet again. Despite being rained on all afternoon the guys still had smiles on their faces and were nothing but pleasant and polite. We also really appreciated them using runners to protect our carpeted stairs. Even with the rain there was no mess to clean up. Thank you so much Avery! You made an otherwise stressful move a piece of cake.

Maggie at Yang's is a super star! She was so helpful putting together bouquets, boutonnieres & corsages for my wedding. I had a rough idea of what I wanted, but she really brought it all together and came up with something spectacular. For all of it (flowers for a total of 20 people!)I still can't believe it came in under $300. There are a number of flower shops on this little strip on Avenue Road, they all have pretty good prices, but only Yang's has Maggie :) Thank you so much! I will update this review soon with pictures.

I needed fabric for table runners and was on a limited budget. I looked in all the fabric stores on this Queen West strip west of Spadina and Downtown Fabric definitely had the best prices. Their selection is comparable to other stores, but it was really the prices that set them apart. The owner of the store is extremely helpful as well. He showed me fabrics that were very appropriate for my project (unlike some of the other salespeople from other stores). He even helped me with my measurement calculations and gave me a discount. He's also lots of fun. 2 girls came in to the store and we all played a game to guess the type of material a certain fabric was made of. They guessed right and he cut them a yard for free! Overall a really fun experience and I'm super happy with the fabric.

I've been getting all my framing done at Frames and Pictures for many years. For sure these are the best prices in town - but the best part is their incredible customer service and meticulous workmanship. They take the time to help you choose the right mat & frame and give really good advice. I particularly like to use them for gifts as they always go over really well. Great selection of mirrors at fantastic prices as well. Love them!
