William the estimator is genuine, knowledgeable, punctual, and trustworthy. The crew was professional, tidy, quick. Did a fabulous job with attention to the details. Little pricier but its worth it.

Overall I found A&A Masonry a decent company. The sales person was good to work with and so to was the owner of the company. However, the crew that worked on my house clearly didn't havetheir best day. They missed some areas, grinded some areas but forgot to replace the mortar, and left a bit of debris around the house. I will say that the owner was very recpetive to my complaints and had the crew back bright and early the next morning. They were pleasant and made special effort to fix everything when they returned. Having said that, I would have expected it was done right the first time, particulalry because their prices are on the higher side versus other contractors. In addition, I had another masonry expert that I trust at my house the week after their work and he suggested they could have possibly done better at colour matching the mortar and on the type of mortar they chose to use. Nevertheless, you should likely add these folks to those you interview for your own job...just keep in mind that being top-ranked doesn't mean you're perfect. They also have a $1500 minimum for jobs so keep that in mind for smaller projects.

Hiring Alba Stone & Masonry for my patio project was the best decision I could have made. You really can't go wrong with hiring them - both from a price standpoint and a quality standpoint. I interviewed over a dozen companies for my project and was shocked at how overpriced many of them were and how completely untrustworthy and unprofessional most of them were. Sabri, the owner of Alba Stone, did the estimate himself and his quote was almost bang-on what I wanted to pay. Most of the estimates were thousands of dollars more and clearly overpriced (I researched the cost of materials so had a sense of the project's value). One estimate was lower than Sabri but conveniently that contractor became unreachable when I wanted to dig into his quote more fully. He also squeezed my project in rather quickly and finished the project faster than the other companies said it would take. Sabri did all of the work on the project himself and his small team were all full-time employees of the company - and they were all just the nicest bunch of guys. It was really a joy to have them at my house. They arrived every morning at 7:30 am and cleaned-up every day when they left - and they didn't work on the weekend so my family was never disrupted. Sabri is truly an expert on stonework and concrete and I would suggest that you put your faith in him. He is an exceptionally honest and trustworthy, self-made new Canadian. He pays attention to detail in his work and expects nothing but excellence from himself, his work, and his team. He also went out of his way to do a few additional things on the project (without asking for more money) just to be sure that it ended up being of the highest quality and to ensure that my family and I completely enjoy it for years to come. Don't be fooled by the fact that I am the first homeowner to review Alba Stone on Homestars - Sabri just wasn't aware of the website - you should really consider him for your own project. Have used this company twice and would use them again. I would take the negative reviews with a grain of salt. A quality company that does quality work. Hard to beat their prices and they get the work done quickly. If there is an issue they resolve it to the customer's satisfaction. Deal directly with Daryl Lupichuk.

We have used Vinyl City three times as part of our home renovation and will use them at least once more to complete all the windows and doors in our house. They are the best value for money in the area, hands down. The Window City products they use are quality products that work and look great. The installers from Vinyl City do the job fast and correct and don't cut corners. We have been really pleased with what we have gotten for a great price. We recommend these guys wholeheartedly.

Sandro and his team designed and installed a tumbled stone interlocking walkway and step at the front of my house. Their work was good. Sandro and all of his team are genuinely nice people as well. They are efficient and professional. I would recommend them as a company to get a quote from.

One of the best contractors we have used. Ladislav (also goes by 'Dan') did a fabulous job for us. He went beyond the call, worked exceptionally hard to get the work done, and was a truly nice guy. My wife and newborn baby were at home alone with him for a couple of days and she never experienced a problem or had any safety concerns. I wouldn't hesitate to have him in my house and around my family again. As well, the quality of his work is great and he charges very competitive rates. I got more than my money's worth.

Quality, service, and cost are all the best. We are undertaking a number of renovations to our home and now have considerable experience with contractors. The folks at Better Contracting are simply the best. In all honesty, everyone from the salesperson, to the roof and siding crews, to the owners, to the office staff were wonderful to work with. In my opinion, you can't go wrong in hiring these guys. Everyone was respectful, clean, qualified, knowledgeable and the crews were quick while maintaining quality excellence. They are definitely not the cheapest contractor you can get but they also are not the over-priced ones...I got 10 quotes so I know! Their prices are fair and very competitive...and they are the best value for the money. They are such a respectable company that they even returned to my house a couple of times after the job to take care of some minor finishing touches. It was never a problem getting them to come back quickly and I had already paid in full. Trust these guys with your home and family. My wife and I are glad we did. Sue and Mavis are a real pleasure to work with in the office. Owner brothers Steve and Michael are always around to be sure everything is to the family standard. Tom and his roof crew are great and the siding crew were really artists. Good luck with your own renos.
