I was initially quoted on replacing my taps but I asked to receive a new quote to install a new tub and surround. I understood after speaking with the installer Luiz that the installation of the tub and surround included the price of the tap replacement since they had to be removed to do the tub anyway. It turned out that this was not the case and I ended up paying an additional $1400 because I "misunderstood". The work done was literally a disaster. Luiz and Sonny (no longer with Clearview) installed the tub visibly crooked with massive gaps between the tub and the walls of the surround. I was told this was the best they could do because the walls were not totally square and that water wouldn't get into the gaps (heard of mould Luiz?). They also cut through an electrical wire and their repair was not to code and pulled the wires against a heating pipe. When the wall was opened up several weeks later it was apparent that it was scorched due to overheating from the pipe and I was told that this would most definitely resulted in a fire if left as it was by several electricians. Luiz's fix for the gaps when I complained was to pipe 4 tubes of caulking into the gaps (it looked awful and I could still see the wall between the tub and surround). I spoke to their customer service manager Dave who essentially treated me as though I was over-reacting. He said he would come up with a plan and contact me while I was on vacation for two weeks but he did not. When I returned I both called and emailed and received no response until I filed a BBB complaint (conveniently timed). At that point I had issues with scheduling (they were showing up in 2 hours without setting an appointment). The master plumber Paul was very apologetic for the work previously done and kept me in the loop with what he was doing. The first new tub he uncrated was cracked so he left to pick up a new one that was copped in two places. He showed them to me and said that they would send a fibreglass guy out to touch it up, they never booked anyone to do the repair so I phoned to question them. Paul came back out, took more pictures and still, no one was ever booked so I still have a brand new chipped tub. Should also mention that the $1400 tap replacement included a $100 tap, a shower head that in all honesty I never saw because Luiz advised me to purchase one because the one he was putting in was of poor quality. Paul was kind enough to order a longer faucet because the included one was too short and caused water to splash on the edge of the tub. Paul fixed so many things installed incorrectly by Luiz, there was a part missing from the taps that were not anchored correctly, he rewired the singed wire, patched the bedroom wall damaged that backed on to the bathroom, but most importantly he installed the tub and walls straight. The whole experience was very upsetting and I decided after thinking about it for a while that Calgarians needed to hear my story about Clearview.
