We hired Elite Trade Painting through Sean at their Mississauga location. At first Sean was very friendly. When the work started things went bad fast. Right at the beginning there was bad site preparation. Floors, mill-work, cabinetry, doors and other fixtures were not covered and very little was taped. After the wall patching and the painting started, the house was a huge mess, with paint and drywall compound spilled on the floors and drips all over doors etc. We confronted Sean about the bad work and damage; he begged us to give him a chance to fix it and make everything right. Against my better judgement we allowed him to try and fix things. Things only got worse.... we paid for two coats of Benjamin More Aura. We did not even get one coat. Where they did paint, the walls felt like orange peels with bubbling and imperfections everywhere, sections of walls were missed, they used ceiling paint on the trim .... The painters we requested quotes from to fix the job advised that Elite Trade Painting must have watered down the paint, and did allot of dry rolling to stretch the paint. That is what caused the orange peel effect on the walls. It was not just sloppy work it was deliberate, cutting corners to save money on materials. The quotes we received to fix the job, were higher then it would have been to do the job from the beginning because of the cost to fixing Elite the damage. That does not even take into account the cost to refinish the floors or mill-work. Just before we ended things with Elite, we found out Sean had quit and sold his franchise. Sean became unreachable. We contacted Elite's head office and advised them of what happened and got no satisfactory response. We hired a new painter to fix the job and he did a very professional job. He also cut us a huge discount as he felt so bad about how were were treated by Elite.
