I contracted Handyman Matters to do a complete tear-out and rebuild of my old bathroom. The original bathroom was a renovation done by the former homeowner. Quite frankly, the workmanship of the original bathroom was terrible! When the tear-out portion was complete it was determined that a great deal of additional work would be required to complete the renovation. This was work such as trenching a drain for the shower into the concrete floor due to the fact that the old drain was sitting on top of the floor and ran inside a wall. As well as the new drain, additional electrical work was required, repairs to a toilet drain was needed, as well as other items. Considering it would have been difficult to anticipate these items in the original estimate, Handyman Matters kept all charges for additional work to a minimum, and the final invoice price was very fair and reasonable. All the work performed was of the very highest quality. Everything from the special insulation required for the concrete walls, the copper piping, the special Schluter (brand name)system used for the walk-in shower, and the tile work was all fantastic! The finished product is the best renovation I have ever seen! Already, two friends who have seen the new bathroom have asked me to contact Handyman Matters on their behalf as they have reno projects they want to undertake, but have yet to find a contractor with whom they are satisfied. The other thing I noticed was how respectful Les was about the fact that I was living in the house while he was doing this reno. Les and Mike did everything they could to keep the construction mess/dust to a minimum. They cleaned up thoroughly every evening before they left and did all major cutting, tile work and all other work they could out in the garage so as to minimize the mess in the house. Les and Mike took short lunch breaks, were here in the morning by 9am and generally didn't leave before 6pm. This meant the reno was completed in a very reasonable amount of time. Overall, I would say that you could not find a better crew to undertake any kind of home reno. Again, the quality of workmanship was amazing and the entire process was really enjoyable, compared to some of the horror stories I've heard from people I know. If you need any type of reno done at your house, call Les at Handyman Matters. you will be very glad you did!!
