Jovian and his assistant James did an excellent job creating our backyard patio. We were so fortunate to have found him on Homestars and so thankful that he was able to squeeze us into his schedule this fall. Jovian understood the challenges our backyard posed, being slanted in many directions. We realized that he was very experienced and he immediately started with the construction issues before tackling the cosmetic ones. Jovian is a perfectionist, wanting the construction of the patio to last, not just to create a patio. In addition, he also had an appreciation of our aesthetic wishes. We felt secure in hiring him and now, afterwards know we made the right decision. Due to COVID, there were supply problems, but he worked with us, and we now have a beautiful patio as a result. They started exactly as scheduled and both worked extremely hard and efficiently. He put down plywood to protect the front lawn from any machinery used, and was considerate of not only our front lawn, but also our neighbour’s adjoining yard. He was always approachable and has a very calming personality. He patiently answered our many questions, very professionally, which allowed us to learn about the process and made sure we were part of the creation. Creating a patio is not such a simple process, especially to do it properly to avoid pooling and sagging. You need someone like Jovian who coupled with years of experience, gives your job full attention, does the job conscientiously, with an eye for detail and commitment -- not trying to rush finishing it. and just run off to the next job. It was such a pleasure having him and James do our patio, we highly recommend him if you want someone who cares, takes pride in their work, has a wonderful work ethic, and is professional and honourable. We recently renovated and purchased transitional/modern furniture (a sofa, glass/metal office writing desk and an entry hall glass/chrome console from a Decorium sale at a reasonable price. Ella, at the store in Concord, was an absolute gem – very professional, design savvy and supportive. Because she’s very knowledgeable, it allowed us to make informed decisions.
