We had our roof installed in summer 2014. The whole end-to-end experience with London Eco-Roof was great. It started with Ryan (sales rep) who was very professional, and took the time to explain the benefits of metal roofing and showed us samples of the various choices and colours. He also provided a list of references of others who had London Eco Roofs in our area. I went to see a few and even talked to an owner who was extremely pleased with her roof. So proud infact that she made me look at her whole roof from the front and the back of the house. Based on my experience with Ryan and seeing some of the roofs, I decided to go with London Eco-Roof.
It happened that they were opening up their new office in Ottawa and we were invited to a BBQ at the Grand Opening, where we got a chance to meet the owner, who took the time to explain the story of how he started the company. We also had the opportunity to meet many of the staff, sales reps, and installers.
Finally the installation crew, led by Alex, were respectful, curteous, and very professional. If I remember correctly, I think it took three plus days to fully install the roof, so I am confident the job was done correctly. I had the opportunity to talk with the crew every night when I came home from work, and they explained the work they had done and answered my questions fully.
We believe in respecting the environment and the fact that the old shingles were not removed and thrown in the landfill also was a factor in our decision to go with a metal roof. Additionally, with the shingles, the membrane, the strapping, and finally the metal roof panels, I think it should automatically provide more insulation so I didn’t add any more insulation in the attic to increase the R-value.
Honestly, I still enjoy looking at the roof when I drive home, and compare it regularly with shingled houses on our street, and in my opinion it looks markedly better than shingles. I am attaching a few pictures of the roof to this review.
