Just a heads up to warn everyone if you are planning to move DO NOT USE AMJ Campbell on Vipond Road in Mississauga, Ontario. I recently used them in a move and it was the worst move of my life. First off they arrive 2 hours earlier that the appointment and I had to have a serious discussion with them to have them deduct the 2 hours off the bill since I would be not be able to get into the house I was moving into 2 hours earlier. The movers wrapped everything up beautifully but unfortunately, when they delivered my furniture to me new home they removed all the padding on almost all the items before they brought the pieces in to the house. They damaged so many pieces of furniture that it was heart breaking. They took hunks out of my wall, destroyed a shelving unit and a bookcase and ripped my new mattress covers as well as losing the cushion from my chair, lost pieces to my lamps, destroyed my bookcase and one of my metal shelves and took my office chair with them without my permission. They didn't set up my bed and I was left on my own to try and assemble a Queen sized bed. The headboard is still not attached although I did manage to get the mattress onto the frame by myself. They have advised me that the insurance company needs a deductible before they can fix anything but the cheque for $150.00 is to be sent to AMJ Campbell not to an insurance company. This sounds very unusual to me and this on top of a fee that is higher than any other moving company I had called. I have worked with AMJ Campbell out of Hamilton many times for business and wrongly assumed that the Mississauga branch would be as professional and expedient as the Hamilton branch. Obviously all the branches of the company are not the same. So buyers beware!! Just received a cheque from AMJ Campbell Mississauga for all my damages. The estimate to replace the cushion on my chair that they lost and recover the chair was $600-$800. AMJ Mississauga gave me $50. It cost $200 for the insurance and another $150 for the guy to come out and look at the damage. AMJ Mississauga sent me a cheque for $150 for all the damages. We moved 30 pictures ourselves and nothing was damaged and AMJ Mississauga moved 2 pictures and they broke the frame and put a dent in the canvas of one of them. The picture is useless and they gave me nothing for it. They moved a 4 shelf metal shelving unit and they bend the frame so badly when I tried to put a box on it the whole thing came down on top of me. They gave me $50 to replace the shelving unit. The movers ripped all the trim off my teak bookcase which was 5 feet long and about 3 ft high and put a big hole in the side of it. AMJ Mississauga gave me $50 for that. Almost a year of fighting with them and I get $150. There were also dents in my walls and an antique curio cabinet that they drilled holes in and took brackets from another cupboard so they could put the shelves in since they lost the brackets. There are good AMJ Campbell branches out there I know since I worked with the one in Hamilton for many years but AMJ Campbell in Mississauga do not have professional movers like they advertised and they didn't even turn up in an AMJ Campbell truck. I was afraid there was a problem when I saw that because if they are using rental trucks instead of their own as far as I'm concerned they are a mickey mouse company. I decided to give them a chance and I paid for it dearly. Don't make the same mistake.

On April 2, 2015 I had Bathtub King come in to my house to re-glaze my tub. At that time I advised them that the tile walls of the tub had been painted and I didn't want to have to redo them. I was advised that they would be careful and it shouldn't be a problem. (To be fair to Bathtub King, there were two little spots that I had to touch up but I definitely did not want to have to redo the all the walls.) When the tub was done there was paper and plastic taped all over my wallpaper, my bathroom wall tiles, my mirror, the toilet and basically everything in the bathroom. I was told it must stay overnight and that I would have to remove it the next day. I told the installer right then that this concerned me since I had used the same type of tape previously and it had taken off the paint when I had being painting and I didn't want to be responsible for any damage caused by the tape or anything else. The installer advised that this was really good tape and their procedure and it that was the way it had to be done and there would be no damage. Arguing with him didn't do any good. The next morning I very carefully removed the tape and the paper and plastic. Not only did the tape take off the paint on my tile walls in a number of places there was paint missing where there was no tape. There was also tape residue on my wallpaper. I Bathtub King and the installer came back. When I pointed out the problem the first thing that came our of his mouth was "I'm not redoing your walls". He then said he would touch it up and when I returned to the room he had put blotches of his bright white paint all over the off while tiles. Now they looked like polka dots...just terrible. He said the tiles would have to be etched and redone at a cost of somewhere around $1500-$1900. I FELT COMPLETELY RIPPED OFF!! After he left I looked over the tub again and the bottom of the tub was all rough and bumpy, there was caulking stuck to the bottom of the tub which I was afraid to scrap off. There was also caulking on the toilet and the floor. I swore I would never have Bathtub King in my house again. I called another company who was recommended by a friend and they will reglaze the tub and the tiles for less than Bathtub King would have fixed the tiles. I called the Bathtub King office a second time to ask for my money back and they have no managers or supervisors you can talk to there is only the receptionist to speak to. She advised me that I would not get my money back. I would never use this company again and I would warn anyone who wants their tub re-glazed to call around and get another company or get a reference from a friend. I had used Bathtub King 14 many years ago and they did an excellent job so I felt comfortable calling them again. Either they are under new ownership/management now or their installers are not properly trained to do the job so DON'T USE BATHTUB KING.
