I ordered the windows and doors for the 4300 sf house. The window and door received with 6 5/8" thick jamb which does not work for brick/stone exterior. The doors was shipped with no brick mould. Call the office to resolve the problem and no one calls me back. Talked to the sale man a few time and it seems that it is not his job. Product is good except a mistake to the jambs. The service is horrible.

Gem is responding to your unfair one sided review of Gem. Gem is one of the oldest and most reputable window and door companies in Toronto for over 54 yrs. Your accusations are false and undefendable. You are a contractor that builds and renovates you came into our showroom and viewed all your options and products available to you. As you stated here the Product is Good! The size of the jambs and the need for brickmold varies from each build and we do not determine this , the builder who knows what he needs based on his finish and materials determines the overal depth and whether he wants or needs an exterior BM. Our consultant Seymour in our showroom asked you if you wanted a BM and you declined as you stated you did not want it on this order. After you received your windows you called us that you have a problem that the windows are not the correct depth. We offered you a solution to fix your ERROR! with a sill extention total cost $1100 + hst , you have not contacted us back so that we may help you. As far as the door the same problem and error was made by you we can help you but it seems like you only want to blame others for your over site . Gem builds what you order and sign for, you should have verified your measurements on site we could have altered depth of jambs before completion of order.Documentation with your signiture verifying all sizes and window specification can be provided to you or any reader upon request. . Gem cannot be responsible unless we measure and install. We welcome constructive reviews that are factual but we also want our readers to have a balanced story on this type of situation were the customer ordered the wrong sizes and wants to vent and blame others for their mistakes.
