I needed my microwave fixed before Christmas. It told them the exact issue and gave my model number so they can order the part. On the Monday before Christmas the tech (who was very friendly) called and said he's in the building already so can he come over to do the repair a day early. I said yes and came home for from work. He came and put a cup of water in the microwave, it didn't heat, he said he doesn't have the part and I'd have to make another appointment. He was in my place for 2.5 minutes. I was charged $100 and still didn't have a working microwave. I had to cancel Christmas dinner at my place. I'm not sure what the point of this visit was because this was NOT a SERVICE/REPAIR appointment. Their customer service person should have scheduled a repair. I'd rather get a bill for $300-400 and have a working microwave than pay $100 for someone to do exactly what I did and leave in 2 minutes. Side note: both whirlpool products in our condo have stopped working and they are under 5 years old. I have GE and LG microwaves/ovens in my other condos that are more than 15 years old and still working so I WILL NEVER buy a whirlpool product again. I want to be very clear in this review - the Tech was very friendly, I have no issues with him at all. I am upset at Whirlpool repairs though for wasting my time and money and ruining our Christmas. They called after I tweeted them and said that's their protocol. That customer service agent was very rude and kept speaking over me. Just don't waste your time with them.
