It can be overwhelming to have too much stuff. Not knowing where to start and not wanting to tackle the job at all. Most of the items in my parent’s home belonged to Mom, Dad and their six children, etc.
Mom didn’t have it in her to do it on her own. I took the tools that Linda Vanderkolk taught me while working as an assistant with her clients.
First we sorted like for like and it was amazing how much easier it was for Mom to let go of certain things when she saw how many of the same type of items she had.
At times, I walked Mom through some difficult choices just as I had witnessed Linda with her clients. It was never a matter of lets throw it all away. If someone, anyone can use the items recycle or reuse is always the best if it no longer "fit" in Mom’s home.
One client I remember his late wife was a seamstress and Oh how the neighbourhood school's Drama Dept was excited to have costumes and fabrics donated. This donation made parting with her belongings so much easier knowing they were appreciated and being used in the way they were intended. With Linda's psychology background she has a heart centred way of being sympathetic, compassionate and yet firm with helping you fulfill your commitment.
If you or a loved one feels overwhelmed and not sure where to start; please call Linda for a consultation. I assure you she is ready to help you lift that weight off of your shoulders.
