We knew we'd be replacing the A/C at our house a few years after we moved in. It was pretty old, and when we had a maintenance check, the tech thought it was around 15 years old. We hadn't planned on replacing the furnace as we were told by our home inspector that it was only a couple of years old when we moved in (based on the installation sticker). Anyway, Cy came to our house and took a look at both. He asked us how long we planned to live in the house because depending on whether we were going to stay for a long period, it might be worth it to replace both. He spent an hour with us going over our options and explaining the different systems. Because there was both a government and manufacturers' rebate, as well, we decided to take the plunge and replace both. We're so glad we did! When Tiger and Randy came to do the installation a week later, it turned out the furnace was a used one and whoever installed it had removed the safety valve on it--if the furnace got too hot, it would continue to get hot until it started a fire. Once we learned this, we were extremely glad we'd decided to replace it! Spring Home did a fabulous job and spent the whole day at the house replacing pipes, vents, and the furnace and A/C. We got a new concrete pad for the A/C, and it's so much cleaner and quieter than our old system. After Spring Home left, we weren't actually sure the furnace was working it was so quiet until we stood over the floor vents! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Cy and his team--they were all extremely courtesy, experienced, and always punctual. Cy has contacted us a couple of times since the install to make sure everything's okay and that we're happy with it.

We needed our sofa and stairs cleaned, and emailed Adel based on the reviews here. He was always courteous in our correspondence, and answered all of my questions, including offering quotes for the job. We never felt pressured to offer him the job, which helped a lot, since we'd never had our carpets or upholstery cleaned before. We ended up hiring him because the price was reasonable and we knew others on Homestars had been happy with his work. The appointment was scheduled for 10:00 on Wednesday, Dec. 30, and he and Hazel arrived right on time. He'd estimated 3 hours for the job, but was done in 2. The whole them they were here, they were professional and very easy to work with. They lay down carpets to protect our flooring when cleaning the sofa and wore plastic booties on the carpet. He was always happy to answer any questions we had, and did a spot test on the sofa to test its colourfastness. Today the change is very noticeable--the sofa smells great and the stains are gone. The sofa's a dark nave chenille and it's used every day. The gray that settled on top is gone! The carpets look fantastic--we haven't seen them so clean before! We didn't get the bedrooms cleaned as we're planning to replace the carpets in a couple of years, but you can see a faint line between the dirty carpet and the now clean one! Adel and Hazel did a wonderful job, and we'd definitely use 416-So-Clean again. There were no hidden costs at the end (we got exactly what Adel quoted the week prior), and they gave us great advice on buying carpet in the future and what fibres/fabrics last and clean the best. Great job!
