DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Technician "J" arrived to replace a leaking cartridge on our kitchen faucet. We had the new cartridge, we just needed it installed. There is the mandatory $70 dispatch fee for them to come out (which would be fine, if they sent someone that would actually fix, or aid in the process to actually fixing, my plumbing problem). Prior to starting the work he quoted me an additional $220 to "fix" my problem. This is a total of just under $300 to unscrew my faucet handle, pop out a cartridge, put a new one in and then put it back together (so, completely insane in terms of cost, but I needed it done, so was willing to pay it). Prior to starting any work, however, I had to sign a document saying that the work had been completed to my satisfaction. I said that he hadn't started, why would I sign? He shrugged and said that this was the policy and promised me he would stay all day, if he had to, to get it fixed. Stupidly, I signed. So, then "J" took apart the faucet, claimed that the old cartridge was fine (issue #1: it was not, it leaked!) and pulled up the three lines leading to the cartridge and claimed that there was a leak in the line (issue #2: in reality, when we pulled the lines apart there is no leak, just what looks like a leak when the 3 individual lines are pushed together and there is a gap between two of the lines); He then informed me that I would have to purchase an entirely new faucet as it is all one piece (issue #3; you can indeed buy that specific part separately, as it is listed as a specific part on the Delta part website!). He then could not even put the faucet back together as it was when he arrived, claimed it was stripped (issue #4; we put it back together ourselves after the fact). Then I was expected to pay the almost $300 (as I had stupidly signed to above) for him to come and make my problem even worse (when he arrived, I at least had hot water; when he left I had NO water and faucet pieces all over my counter). He said that it was ok to pay it, as it would go towards the $1300 I would have to pay to replace the entire faucet, which was what was required to fix my problem. I said "no", I would just pay the $70 dispatch fee. In order to do that, however, I then had to call to complain to get the $220 taken off, so at the end of the visit I just paid the $70 dispatch fee, thinking at least it was money well spent to tell me that I had a leak in the line. Two days later we pull it all apart to try and find the leak in the line. This is when we see that there are three distinct lines and NO leak anywhere. We put the new cartridge in ourselves and our faucet is working with NO leaks!! I ask for the $70 back from Clearview as "J" made my problem worse; takes a day arguing with them until they agreed to refund me and would get their admin to facilitate. The admin (who is very nice, and I feel bad that she has to be the person dealing with this) sends me a document that I must sign in order to process my refund, and then I have to wait up to two weeks to receive my refund. I am NOT happy with my service! I do not believe that I was told the truth by the technician, all in attempt for me to pay an additional $1300 to replace a perfectly good faucet. Maybe it is just this one technician, but I have to write this feedback so that the next person is aware of our situation and they can avoid unnecessary costs based upon falsely fabricated information by this company's technicians. Be careful!
Update: I have now submitted paperwork to be reimbursed for the $70 sometime in the next two weeks. As such, I now have had my grievances rectified by Clearview. Thanks Clearview! Look forward to seeing the refund on my credit card sometime in the next two weeks!
