My 2nd floor deck was tilting because of a rotten support post and beam. We were worried that it was going to fall! I got a few quotes, including one from Rob. His quote was competitive and, just as important, he gave me the sense that he was upfront and reliable (e.g. he answered his phone, showed up as promised, gave a quote as promised...believe it or not, other companies didn't even do that much!!). So I went with Rob and wasn't disappointed. He kept me updated what was happening. When unexpected things came up, he was fair in his pricing. He completed the work as promised and I am happy with the quality. I would hire him again and in fact already called him to ask if he could do some more work for me.

We were having a problem with our building drain. Water was backing up in the sink in the laundry room whenever anybody used any drain in the house. I called a plumber who inserted a snake going from the home towards the city sewer for about 50 feet, but could not clear the clog. After searching homestars, I called Roy of Mayday Drain on a Saturday. To my surprise, he was willing to squeeze us in before another appointment he had on Sunday morning. He came, inserted his camera in the same drain as the plumber and it got stuck at the same point. Roy then traced the location of the camera and found that it was stuck at the trap outside. He then used a plunger in the breather and was able to clear the clog. This solution cost me just $350. The alternative, suggested to me by others, was to dig, find the drain, put in a cleanout just to diagnose the problem. In the meantime, we would have to live with the problem. Roy's simple quick solution saved us money and inconvenience. He kindly suggested the name of a company that could put in a better trap and cleanout down the line if we wanted. Roy was just terrific - great guy, hard working, expert, honest. Thanks, Roy!

We found that we had a bed bug problem that had become serious. For some reason the bugs were biting my wife and not me, so we thought perhaps she was allergic to something. As time passed and we looked for things she might be allergic to, the problem got worse and worse. Eventually we saw the bugs themselves. After searching homestars, we called PSS. Akram came by as scheduled, inspected all the rooms in our house, recommended that we throw our box spring and keep the rest of our furniture because it was treatable, recommended that he treat two rooms (we saw a bug in the living room too), did the treatment, came back about two weeks later for a follow up inspection and treatment. I was impressed by Akram's professionalism, expertise and thoroughness. He looked for and was able to spot the smallest signs of the bugs, and we really appreciated his follow up two weeks later to make sure the job was done well. We haven't seen any more live bed bugs not had any bites since then. Thanks Akram!

Sam has done various jobs for me - from simple jobs like changing a light switch and shower washer to larger jobs like finding a leaking pipe behind drywall, fixing the leak, drywall, and flooring. Everything was done great. One time, my hot water tank stopped working and I asked him to change it, expecting to pay several hundred dollars. But SAM, to my surprise, figured out the problem, found a replacement part and fixed it. It cost me just a couple of hundred dollars and the hot water tank is still working! It is not easy to find such talented, hard working, reasonably priced people like Sam. Plus he is honest and reliable. I always call him first (several times now). I hope he still answers my calls when more people find out about him and he gets busy....

I emailed Matt for a quote to repair some tiles. He responded with a reasonable quote and we set up a date/time for him to do the work. He showed up on time, completed the work in a reasonable amount of time and kept to his quote. He was a god guy to work with. This was a small job and my first experience with Matt, but it was positive. I would call him again for more jobs (and actually have made an appointment with him to do some painting next time).
