4/10

My little boy flushed a toy down the toilet. We called Drainworks. They provided estimate upfront before work was completed and said $160 to $260 depending on effort. They removed the toy, toilet now flushes, nice guys....but the cost is outrageous. Wish I called a local plumber for far less. Was billed $280 for 2 guys to remove my toilet and fish out a toy - total time spent in my house was under 1 hour...$280 per hour equates to an annual salary of $560,000 per year.

Approximate cost of services:
$280.00

Company Response

Steve. It is important to first off mention the actual service provided at your home, as more took place then indicated in your review. We attempted an auger of the 2nd floor toilet to no avail, so we proceeded to remove the toilet in order to remove the toy airplane. We then reinstalled the toilet with all the necessary parts and in addition we cleaned the toilet jets of calcium build-up. We cleaned up the area and tested to make sure the toilet was in good working order. All of these services totalled $265, not $280. Furthermore, we provided pricing upfront and proceeded after receiving your consent. What is the alternative? We provide pricing, receive your consent and assume you aren’t being honest and leave? It is also important to note that the pricing provided is not an hourly charge, it is an exact price, so whether we send 1 or 2 technicians to your home, and whether the service takes 1 or 2 hours, you are paying the same price quoted and agreed to before we begin. The DrainWorks difference is that you reap the benefits of getting the job done quicker for the same cost that someone else may have taken longer to complete. You have used our services before, so we can only presume that you continue to choose DrainWorks as your local plumber because you are happy with the service we provide.
