Michael and his crew replaced my old roof last fall with a beautiful new white roof. This spring, while having electrical work done, which involved punching a hole in the edge of the new roof to install a new pole, the electrician told me that they had run out of sealant, and wouldn't be able to properly seal the edges around the pole. A message to Michael to request his help sometime in the next couple of weeks (with rain on the way), resulted in Michael showing up while the electricians were still on site, and my roof neatly and expertly sealed.

Quality First Roofing came highly recommended when I needed a new roof for both the flat and peaked sections. I wanted a "white" or cool roof, and needed more insulation and a skylight replacement. Michael recommended high quality Malarkey shingles, and Soprema products for the flat section, for a roof that will likely last decades. The final price may look high, but this takes into account the quality of the materials, the custom skylight replacement, and the extra insulation needed. The crew showed up early and worked hard until dark every day, until the job was finished, and Michael provided pictures of both the process and "after" shots, showing some problems left from a previous roofing job. Michael was always available to answer email questions, and when I had a question, I generally found that it had already been anticipated, and would he would check in if something unexpected came up. The entire job went very smoothly. The house is already snugger, and I hope the lighter colour will help keep things cooler in the summers to come. I definitely recommend Quality First Roofing, and will recommend it to anyone I know needing a new roof.

When I contacted this company regarding metering my hot water heater, I was informed that there was a recall on my electrical panel and that it would have to be replaced. It turns out that there is no recall on this item. This has been reported to the E.S.A. (Electrical Safety Authority) the governing and licensing body for electricians in Ontario, and they have issued a reprimand indicating that if this happens again the company may lose their license. In addition, the company charged me very close to $4,000 for all the work that they did, and I have been informed by other electricians that this is about 2 1/2 to 3 times what most electricians charge for this work. They had been very highly recommended by someone whose judgement I trust, so I did not do my due diligence in seeking other estimates; I took their word. Lesson learned! They have refused to to refund any money.
