I decided to go with Consumers Choice for replacing the windows & patio doors in my new house & I regret that decision ever since. Danny had come to give me an estimate & told me it would take 6-9 weeks for installation. It took them 2 weeks to get the paper work from the sales to the installation dept. The only appt. that they could give me for someone to come in to take the final measurements was 10 days later at 9 am. That day, I get a call at 8:30 am saying the guy has called in sick, they had no one else to send in his place & they rescheduled me for an appt. 12 days later on a Wednesday. Once the measurements were done, he informed me that that we would not submit these to the office until Monday because that was his office day. I finally get a call 3 weeks later that they would come on Sept. 28th & 29th. Well, today is the 28th & they canceled 20 minutes before they were scheduled to arrive because of bad weather. I accept that they can't work on the higher levels, but would not even come in to do the main level or basement windows. Today is 9 weeks & 5 days since Danny came for the estimate & I've yet to see a new window or door. Would not recommend them at all unless you are sitting at home all day all week doing nothing & can wait around for whenever they decide to actually come & do the job. I have lost time & money because of taking days off because of them, not to mention that they have thrown my entire renovations off schedules

Company Response

We were surprised when we read the review from [removed - ed].

In short, it appears the only concern the customer has is delivery. The facts are as follows.

The contract was signed on July 22, 2009. The estimated delivery stated on the face of the contract is 6 – 9 weeks, with an additional 2 – 4 weeks for custom orders.

We acknowledge that the installation was at the latter end of the preferred delivery time schedule. This is mainly due to the overwhelming response from both previous and new customers taking advantage of the government stimulus packages. With 15% tax credits and home improvement grants motivating customers to perform home renovations this year, our work load has extended our delivery times to their limit. Having said this, our deliver times are being effected by only a few days at the most.

The customer confirms that the installation commenced in 9 weeks and 6 days (and this includes a delay due to weather conditions).

It is important to mention that the customer signed a satisfaction completion certificate where she wrote, “Installers were great, did good work”.

She also confirmed during a follow-up survey phone call that it was a “beautiful job” with “great products”, but that she would not recommend us because the job was “done late”. She then hung up the phone.

We sincerely regret that the customer is disappointed with our company, especially when we believe that we did good work in a timely manner.
