AVOID THIS COMPANY.
We retained Monster Duct Cleaning based on advertisement for low-cost duct cleaning and maintenance services. Jay and his co-worker attended our home, worked for less than 45 minutes, and charged approximately $640.00 for duct cleaning, furnace and air conditioning maintenance, and an electrostatic furnace filter.
While the ducts appear to have been cleaned, we had to retain another, more professional dryer vent contractor to clean our dryer vent. Monster Duct Cleaning concentrated all of the lint it had "cleaned" at the top of the vent, creating a possible fire and mold hazard. They did not bother to inspect inside the dryer hose to make sure that the lint had escaped through the other side of the vent.
Jay sold us an electrostatic filter for our furnace. He said we were getting a "deal," but in fact it was market price if not slightly more expensive. The filter was the wrong size for our furnace, so Jay taped it to the outside with duct tape and told us he would deliver a properly-sized one the next day. Jay hadn't bothered to tell us that it was the wrong size until after we had already paid for it. Jay of course never showed up.
Despite several voicemails and phone calls, and assurances by Jay that he would show up to our home at specific times, he never came. We wasted our time following up with him and waiting for him to arrive. He did not apologize or show any regard or compassion for us. He was not professional. He was not polite. I cannot urge you enough to avoid any business dealings with Jay or Monster Duct Cleaning. I wish he had left a business card with his full name so that I could replicate this review with any other business he may be now associated with. I am not surprised that this company is apparently no longer in business. Do some background research before hiring this sort of company. I hope that reviews setting out negative experiences like this can serve to weed out unqualified contractors who are out to dupe unsuspecting home owners.
