I called The Cleanery on May 24th, 2014 for a free pickup of my drapes to be cleaned. The owner, Gary Segal, told me he would pick them up the following morning. He never came or phoned. I contacted him on May 26th about picking up my drapes. He came to my workplace and picked up my drapes and advised me that it should take about 1 week to clean. Three weeks later on June 16th, I texted him asking if he could please let me know what is happening with my drapes as I hadn’t heard from him. He replied the next day and said that he sent my drapes out to another cleaner and that their machine “got metal chips in it from some drapes and he has cleaned it and has new chemical coming today”. He indicated that I should receive them by the next day. I texted him and asked if my drapes where in on Friday and we met up at the end of the day with the drapes. He indicated that the other cleaning company did not charge him so he would not charge me for the drapes as well. I asked him while he was handing me the drapes if they are ok and he said they are good. After he left my husband and I took them in and took off the plastic wrap and saw that all of the drapes had a grey rubberish substance all over the inside room darkening liner. I immediately texted Gary and advised him about what we discovered along with pictures and asked him to find out what is was. He said “Will do, I will call him tomorrow morning and let you know”. Four days later I sent another text to Gary as we hadn’t heard from him asking him to get a hold of me that day. He did not reply and has not to this day. Gary’s unprofessionalism is very apparent as he is avoiding the situation and not taking responsibility for the damage to all 4 drapes that we trusted him and his company with.
