driveway, patio, sidewalk, walkway
The project was the driveway, patio in the back, walkway, sidewalk and planter, total about 2000 sq. feet. I picked them because there was someone in the office to answer the phone instead of the answering machine. I took it as a good sign. God, was I wrong. During the initial stage I pointed out that the whole project had to be finished by the middle of September, 2013 due to my work schedule. They agreed, but later it became obvious that they didn’t even plan to deliver on time. During the construction I had some issues with the rebar placement. Another issue was that apparently there was no one from the office supervising the work and it took me several calls to the office to resolve some ongoing problems. The work was essentially finished, but during painting the planter walls they actually stained already finished concrete and planter natural stone. They actually tried to deny in the beginning that it was their fault, but at the end agreed to rectify the problem. Sometime in November they said that they had to stop because of the cold weather and return in the spring. After the winter some cracks appeared in the slabs due to the poor saw cutting pattern, and in some places the concrete surface appeared chipped and weathered. At the end of April, beginning of May, 2014 they contacted me to arrange the final remedial work to be done. I had to go away on business, but made clear that the work had to be finished by June 18, 2014 because I had to do some yard work. And because of my work schedule if I don’t do it now it might be postponed for another year. In the first week of June I sent them a reminder about the agreed dates and was assured that the work would happen in the week of June 9. I came back on June 16 and nothing was done. I don’t expect them to finish the work in the next couple of days. I think I have had enough with this company. The owner seems to be a good guy, and he always had a good explanation why the work was not delivered by a certain date. But at the end it all turned out a big bullshit. I can see that some people had a very positive experience with this company, unfortunately not me. My advice – look elsewhere. I thing I’d be looking for another contractor to do a remedial work.

Victor;
I am quite surprised to read your review. We were in contact 1 week ago and as discussed you were content to know the work can not be done in wet weather. The work was completed for the june18th date that was set and all looks amazing. I would recommend anyone to visit 20 Lund St in Richmond hill. In fact I urge customers to go check it out. The Ashlar Slate pattern has always been a favourite for me. I know you were quite shocked when you had sene the final work and the final seal was completed. I am glad to service your work in the future but please pay your final payment that I allowed you to hold over the winter as I did not want to finish the work in poor weather conditions. As discussed - it's not only about the money at the end of the day. Please call Connie at the office and she will book you for a no charge wash and seal for next year or your next required maintenance. This is somewhat to make you feel better for the delays but also because I want to make sure you maintain the driveway properly. In 25 years you will appreciate the honesty that was behind completing your driveway in proper weather. Enjoy - and please don't be shy - call if you have any concerns. Joe Guida - President
