We had the rest of our custom orders installed today by Barry in mid June, about 5 weeks after our initial order. All the pieces fitted fine and the install was relatively quick. It took 1.5 hours to install 6 pieces, including cleanup. Barry had left one of my pieces at the Vaughan warehouse and another crew rushed it over to our house. If it weren't for a new person coming in I wouldn't even know there was a hiccup. I like that Barry and his installer take time to remove the debris. We are left with not much else to do after the install but to admire our new windows. From the initial quote to finished product to install, the entire process in dealing with Barry and the What a Pane crew was quick, simple and pleasant. They delivered with good quality products and great customer service. I would highly recommend this company for sure!

I had a completely different experience than the previous reviewer. My contractor first introduced me to Angelo to fix a really bad gauge my dog did to my hardwood floor at my previous home. We filled it ourselves but with the wrong filler colour and stain. Our inexperience left the repair only slightly better than the original damage. Angelo came to remove our varnish, matched the right floor colour and proceeded to paint in the veins to tie in the damaged portion with the rest of the floor. This is the next best option of repair to removing and replacing the one damaged plank. Unless I point it out, it is hard to see the damage now. I was thrilled with his work, even though it was a very minimal job for him since it literally only took him 15 minutes. For my new home, I had Angelo replace all the first floor's carpet to hardwood. I have to match my oak stairs but I wanted a lighter shade than the ebony that is on the stairs. Angelo was very helpful in suggesting the best shade and wood type to get the look we want. From install, sand, stain to varnish, I have to say his workmanship is top notched. Throughout the entire process of dealing with him for my new house, I have to say Angelo was professional and very courteous. I've had the luck of my contractor bringing in good tradesmen to work on my new home, but Angelo is certainly one of my favourite person to deal with. Sometimes I understand a company allows for other workers to work on the job, and the initial person to contact you is not the person who work on your home for you. Perhaps due to my contractor's relationship with Angelo, he was the one who worked on my home and oversee the other workers there. I think that is vitally important in the finish product and also the experience I got.

I want to write an initial review of my experience with Barry and What A Pane because I was thoroughly impressed with their efficiency and professionalism. I called Barry last Wed or Thurs for a quote for two sets of doors with transom and side windows. I was given a reasonable price. He arrived on time on Sat with the design I wanted and was able to install the front door lite immediately. All the transom and side windows had to be custom ordered due to the non-standard size. For those of you who are interested, Barry advised that the transom and side windows from Builders are almost always non-standard. If you have a timeframe to which you want your door lites or windows to be installed, best to organize this in advance. A custom order will take about 6-8 weeks. The actual door lite is of standard size so he was able to put it in for me. I also have an oval window on the 2nd floor that is inconveniently situated beside a toilet. My options is either to custom make some window treatment or put in frosted window decals myself. I'm not enthusiated about drapes or venetian blinds and since I've already invested a good amount of money in this new house that I don't want to be cavalier about these small details. Barry was able to quote me immediately and make a template of the odd shaped window. A drawing of the custom pieces was promised to me by Tuesday, but he was able to send it to me by Monday. Barry was a pleasure to deal with, and same for his colleague who installed the door lite on Sat. Barry has great listening skills and gave relevant advises which I really appreciate. I look forward when the rest of the order arrives and will post photos for my 2nd review.
