I called several technicians/company’s regarding a furnace that was malfunctioning in one of my rental properties. Mike was the first to return my call and promptly booked me in for inspection. From my telephone conversations with 6 different technicians, Mike appeared to be the most understanding of the urgency to have my issue resolved the same day due to colder weather conditions. Mike also appeared to be the only technician I spoke with that seemed enthusiastic about getting my furnace back up and running. When Mike arrived on site, I was pleased to see that he was being responsible and following proper social distancing guidelines and wearing PPE which really put my tenant and I at ease. When Mike examined my furnace he quickly discovered the malfunctioning part, and was able to show and explain to me what was going on. Mike had the part readily available on his truck and was able to replace it within the hour. After Mike completed the work I asked him what his thoughts were regarding the furnace and he told me “It’s on the older side, but in really good shape. Must have been properly maintained.” When Mike presented me with my invoice I was completely relieved as I usually have bad luck with these sort of things and was expecting a hefty replacement or repair cost. While Mike was loading his tools in his truck I did the most typical Canadian home owner thing, I started discussing replacement costs for the furnace, damn well knowing I had no intentions of replacing it. Mike went over some pricing options and warranties and expressed his opinion on the “best bang for your buck furnace” he called it and to my surprise if wasn’t as expensive as I thought it would be. When Mike left, I felt my appointment went way better then I expected it to and had no anxiety. Fast forward 4 months later and hear we are today, even though I had no intentions of replacing the furnace, Mike did make a valuable point on how the newer furnaces are a hell of a lot more efficient. Fantastic experience, great price and good attitude! Thanks again Mike!
