9/10

I probably should have gave these guys 10/10 seeing I will be hiring them again in 6-7 months, but of the 3 man crew, the third (and newest) guy was the week link. As a whole though, this company was professional…they truly cared about my possessions, and they tried to meet the deadlines. They did not hit one wall, and majority of my furniture was unscathed. The only issue was an ikea bed that broke from the new guy dropping it, but it was one of my cheaper articles, and they worked with me to resolve this…which wasn't a big deal overall seeing all my expensive articles made it with ZERO issues. They offered Friday service for a lesser rate which I jumped on, and any questions on hourly fees charged, they were very much engaging in the dialog to ensure they got it right….which they did ! Working with this company was pain free, and during this stressful time for me, I will gladly recommend this company to others!

We had a large kitchen renovated, and Legacy kitchens recommended Kelly'd Renos. His job basically was to remove everything, re-wire some outlets, and install everything back in (not the kitchen cabinets)...for $6000+ Half way through he asked if we wanted puck lights. We thought it was included. After having $1000 added to our bill to rewire, we noticed a bunch of stuff missing. We were selling all our old stuff, and saw the sink and faucet gone. He told us the faucet leaked and tossed it...ummm, ok. The sink looked like it was pulled out of his garabage as well. All our other stuff was thrown into a pile in our garage full of his sawdust. Our instant hot water tap also was broke...and blamed it on the tap. He also scratched a bunch of cabinets on installations. He then charged us another $400 to install the lights. Legacy was surprised it wasnt included in the wiring cost. Kelly's emails were rude and short. He came when he pleased, sometimes for an hour, sometimes never at all. When he finally finished (other then a few things I will fix), he wanted the 3rd check the same night the "new" bill was written...funny how fast we have to jump, when we waited for him for several weeks with kitchen! My wife had to deal with him because he was so rude and blunt...thats a first for me. Dont hire this guy.

Just to start off, we would of given Legacy at least an 8-9 out of 10, but there were too many issues that made this reno a true headache. The pros: Legacy knows what they are doing! Their own carpenters are great, professional. The meetings discussing price and drawing, they truly tried to stick within the budget. Their store is awesome. Would we hire them again...I think yes. The negatives: The drawing was a bit misleading. Some of the measurements were wrong. Our island was installed in the wrong place due to some measuring issues (though they fixed it and helped fix our floor as a favour). They recommended the prep guy "KELLYS RENO"...DO NOT HIRE HIM!! He was the worst contractor we have ever met. He gutted our kitchen early because he had holidays. Over 1.5 months later...after waiting several weeks with some no shows, he finally came. He kept on adding costs to our original contract! His emails were blunt and rude. He damaged a few of the cabinets that Legacy agreed to fix. Legacy also recommended the granite company "Crown". They were very nice, but they broke our first slab, then cut the island piece the wrong size! Communication was "ok". John the supervisor was amazing!! He should be running the show. Overall, Legacy wants you to have a nice kitchen. Its the hired help which they are not responsible for that ruined everything. Communication in the end got a bit sloppy as well when tensions were at their highest. If I didnt watch this as close as I did, it would have been a lot worst. Didnt help we started the demo November 1st, and are struggling to finish before Xmas. In summary, we got the kitchen we wanted (with a few issues still needing fixed)..but the help recommended ruined everything.

Company Response

Thanks for taking the time to write this review, Ben. We are sorry this experience was not a positive one for you and value hearing what we need to work on to make this process more successful moving forward. Glad to hear John was doing what he could to help this whole reno.
