I had a terrible experience at G.H. Johnson, but not due to the helpfulness or attentiveness of staff. I've never witnessed such a disorganized environment that undermines staff competence so much. Pricing information for featured website items was on one old duotang always lost, staff didn't communicate, wrong items were received- it was as if the system was made to ensure the staff failed in every task. I asked if they kept a computer database on major products and inventory, and a staff member looked at me like I was crazy. Unfortunately, they made minimal profit on me, as so many errors in pricing, ordering and shipping were made. They were very accomodating at dropping the price to make me happy, which I absolutely commend. I just wished they didn't have to do it for their sake. The company offers great products at reasonable prices and the customer service reps and managers are friendly and helpful- it's just the shocking lack of any system that means a complicated and difficult experience. Many coworkers have said the same. Hopefully they can stay in business and get their act together! If they do, I will be a very loyal customer.
