We required a walk in tub for a family member with accessibility issues. Our bathroom had already been renovated and we were worried about damaging the tile work. There are numerous tubs of this type on the market and very expensive so it was a project that required a lot of research and many estimates. His wife Connie was a great resource for helping choose the options. The price estimate I was given was probably the closest to cost that I have received in years. No surprises. The quality of the whole project is exceptional. There was minimum disruption to our household during the installation. Besides being extremely conscientious about his work, Ken was equally so in the cleanup. Choosing Fun and Function Renovations has been the most gratifying experience I’ve had in the area of home renovations. You know that you’ve had the best job done possible when guests are impressed by the workmanship and details to the point they are taking photos with their phone cameras. Besides a straight forward upgrade of one bathroom another bathroom required custom work in order to provide accessibility for a family member with special needs. This would require removing a wall. I specifically researched companies that did custom work and the first 4 home estimates left me frustrated because I felt I was being offered a general template package. After contacting Pete of Fun and Function, his response was immediate despite being on holidays. He has an ability to listen and with his knowledge and experience of all aspects of building codes, plumbing, electricity etc. he thoroughly checked things out to assess the possibilities. He came up with a plan that was perfect for the needs that we required.. I was given a thorough explanation of what the job would entail especially of the issues that I hadn’t considered. Pete is very particular about the fact that his customers understand every aspect of what the requirements and costs include. From the day Pete and his partner Mark arrived you couldn’t help but be impressed by their professionalism, work ethic and attention to detail. They are a highly efficient and conscientious team. Add to that highly personable and thoughtful with a high regard for their customers. It was obvious to me that I was dealing with a team that was high in honesty and integrity. Bottom line, the results of this job are excellent especially the accessibility customized to the individual which in turn has added independence and ease. The custom bathroom has a warm and inviting look without looking institutionalized as does the other one.

A well known large company had installed my previous roof with 20 yr shingles. After 11 years the shingles were curling. They would not stand behind their work or the shingles. I contacted the Alberta Roofing Association and was given advice on how to find a reputable roofing company. After 5 estimates I chose Done Right Roofing. Their price was competitive but they spent extra time explaining roofing issues. My problem was that the previous installer failed to install adequate venting. There was a slight mix up in the installation date and Done Right gave me a discount and immediately came to do the job. The clean up was great. No stray nails laying around which saved me repairing flat tires like I had to with the previous company.
