We hired Mike of Acez Demolition recently to gut almost 80% of our house for major renovations. It was a pleasure dealing with Mike and his crew. They were professional, courteous and so very polite, friendly and pleasant. They were always on time and worked non stop the entire day till the very last day. Mike was thorough and patient even with changes along the way. He always double checked with our framer, engineer and us to make sure he was within the set limits of demolition. He also made sure of proper and complete disposal of the debris. It was quite reassuring to see that he had very good knowledge of the building structure. At the end of the 10 day job he left the site nicely swept and as clean as possible for the other trades. He stayed well within his quote and timeframe. And charged nominal fee for the extras that we added. We would highly recommend Mike and his Acez Demolition company. We would only consider him if need be for future projects. We recently had the chance of hiring Tony of Braga Contracting for putting in a new elevator pit in our existing basement. Which looks perfect Tony! Also for putting in a new concrete footing and waterproofing a basement corner and installing weeping tiles around the elevator pit. It was a pleasure dealing with Tony's professionalism. He is quite a perfectionist when it comes to quality of his work and always on top of things. He wouldn't even hesitate to come by on weekends just to make sure that the project was done well within the timeframe he promised. He is so very polite and always reachable. It was really nice to see how he takes pride in his work, which is such a peace of mind from a consumer perspective. Even our structural engineer and city of Mississauga inspector were more than satisfied and happy with his work. As were the elevator installers. We would highly recommend Tony. We recently did a major gut job on our 3000 square feet house. For plumbing of the entire house we hired Peter of Innovative Plumbing Services. We have known him for over a decade and know him to be always dependable and a phone call away. So he was our go to guy for a big project like this one. We had challenging structural changes and we were also hooked up to a septic system. Peter had thorough knowledge of it all. Peter and his brother Ted worked nonstop every single day with full focus on our project. Our inspection by the city of Mississauga inspector went without a hitch. Peter and his brother were so very courteous, trustworthy, and very pleasant to work with. They were great in working along with the other trades as well. We appreciate Peter's sound advice in choosing our options with fixtures and placement of all hardware. Also his patience even with our last minute changes and his excellent, honest and sincere customer service. We would highly recommend Peter and Ted for all kinds of plumbing needs. We had the amazingly good fortune of finding PTR Carpentry's Paul through homestars. We had a very unique project of converting our split level home into a same level for wheelchair accessibility reason. It required the task of lowering half of the main floor by 2 feet to bring it to the level of the other half. Plus a lot of other complicated structural changes. The most challenging part being able to support the second floor before lowering and creating a new main floor with a seamless transition. In the process, also had to get rid of some patches of the foundation concrete blocks along the perimeter of the house while still maintaining the integrity of the structure. We also took away and moved around quite a few walls, some load bearing as well, on all floors and added a couple of dormers and also an elevator shaft. If not for a highly skilled framer, like Paul, it could have been a complete disaster. He had a thorough understanding of the engineer's drawings and patience and sensitivity towards our vision and needs for a wheelchair accessible house. Thanks to his remarkable skills, confidence, experience, a highly reassuring attitude and exceptional speed, the entire project was over in no time. He worked smoothly with other trades as well, handling even overall issues regarding the project. Our structural engineer and the Mississauga city inspector had nothing but high praises for Paul's quality work. They especially pointed out how the work was above and beyond the required building codes and how impeccably executed, not seen often. His working habits and ethics were exceptional and a pleasure to see in today's competitive construction industry. Him and his excellent crew were very reliable, always on time and worked hard nonstop. At the end of the day he would leave the site as clean and accessible for us as possible. Infact, he finished exactly on schedule and with so much more and extras that he absolutely did not have to include within his timeframe. His extensive knowledge and sound advice every step of the way was a lifesaver in our situation. We are very grateful and fortunate. Him and his crew were all the way professional, courteous, trustworthy and so very friendly and fun to work with. Our son especially enjoyed Paul's Facebook status updates with photos of our project, every so often. We simply can't say enough of good things about Paul's work and him as a person.
