This is a company I would not recommend to anyone. One of Aire One's technicians came to perform seasonal maintenance on a fully functional unit last Thursday however, he did not seem very knowledgeable and without performing any diagnostics, using tools or testers he said that the unit was defective with a broken heat exchanger, emitting carbon monoxide and had to be tagged and shut down. He also said there was a pipe not in code. While I could relate to his comments on the coding issue as codes do change frequently and the unit is one of the older models it was just alarming that he did no testing and wanted to sell me a new unit for $2,800. I decided that he had to run his meter to at least test for Carbon Monoxide (CO) to justify his claim. When he did there was no issue found and the CO level was all within spec. Nevertheless, he still left a Type "A" red tag and indicated to my tenant that the unit poses imminent danger and could blow up at anytime. He eventually left the house but with the unit running and this time told my tenant she should be ok for a few days. This had me really baffled as to why, since he claimed that there was a broken heat exchanger leaking carbon monoxide that can potentially kill everyone in the household unless he knew that was not the case? Anyway, I called another company to checkout the unit and as expected, other than the pipe needing updating to meet the new code which cost less than $100 to fix there was no issue with the heat exchanger. As per this other company, that practice was unethical, illegal and the tech was basically trying to rip me off. I can safely say I would not be dealing with Aire One ever again and the two units that I intended to buy from them will now go to the other company due to their honesty. Please be aware of companies like this that will manipulate the coding system to their benefits and hold your unit at ransom during these cold months.

Hello Ansel, thank you for voicing your concerns. It is the moral duty and legal responsibility of each licensed gas technician to make sure that the heating equipment they service is safe. Carbon monoxide is an odorless gas that can cause illness and even death. Aire One supports its safety conscious employees
