This is a long overdue review, but I wanted to wait to see how the roof handled over the past few seasons. All I can say is that it's still perfect. When I first called Gord for an estimate back in the summer of 2012, he was the ONLY person who actually took the time to go up into the attic and see if a) there was adequate venting, and b) if there was adequate insulation. Much to his, and my surprise, while up there, he found out that the contractors who added the garage onto the house actually just built a roof on top of the old roof, thereby totally screwing up the venting and adding extra work to the job. In the end, Gord's estimate was one of the higher ones, but in my gut, I knew he was the right guy for the job. The roofing industry can be a real headache for an average homeowner to navigate, with estimates varying by thousands for what seems like the same thing. Gord took the time to explain that his company doesn't take shortcuts, and the products he uses are basically the best. This was actually confirmed by a neighbour's family member (who is also in the roofing business) when they said to my neighbour - "you know, those are the best vents you can buy". That was all the confirmation I needed that I had made the right choice. Gord, Joe and the rest of his crew actually care about doing a good job and it shows. If you want a cheap roof to flip the house, don't call Academia. But if you want a roof for your house that's going to outlast you, don't hesitate to give them a call. They were punctual, clean and professional.

Our fridge decided to die on a Saturday night of the long weekend. I called around to a bunch of repair places and Rick was the only one to call back. He mentioned that he could come by the next day (on Sunday), but based on my description of the issue, he said it was most likely the compressor. Since he would have to wait until the Tuesday to pick up the part, he said that it probably wasn't worth it for him to come out to take a look at it (which would have cost me his service fee), so we just decided to wait it out until Tuesday. Rick came by on the Tuesday, switched out the existing relay to make sure that wasn't the issue (it wasn't), and then ended up replacing the compressor. Great communication, called and showed up when he said he would. Clean, courteous, an overall great guy. Price was about what I expected. I'll definitely give Rick a call for my other appliance issues.

I had some plumbing problems and Robert W. was great. He cleaned out drain and gave me some quotes for an upcoming reno. I will be calling Express Rooter once I start.

Had what looked like a whole colony of ants taking up residence in my back stairwell. Tried all of the off the shelf remedies but in the end, a call to Waheed was all it took. He was the utmost professional, and always gracious on the phone. We made an appointment, and he showed up exactly at the time he mentioned. The ants were gone after he went through the house spraying. UPDATE: we had a re-occurance of ants but in a different location. I called up Waheed, we made the appointment (had to reschedule a couple of times due to conflicting schedules), and he again showed up at exactly the time he said. Hopefully the ants decide to leave now! I can't recommend Waheed enough. How many contractors can you think of that a) actually pick up the phone when you call, and b) show up on time? Highly recommended for any pest issues.

I called Aubrey solely based on the reviews on this website. I have to say that Aubrey exceeded every expectation I had. My fridge had stopped cooling. Fearing the worst, I called up Aubrey and mentioned to him what was happening. He basically diagnosed it over the phone and put my fears to rest that it was a busted compressor. When he came over the next morning, he took the fridge apart, cleaned up inside, and replaced the relay. Everything was working again. Honest, knowledgeable, reasonable rates, and a great person as well. Finding a good contractor is always a tricky proposition. Aubrey is one of the great ones, and is a real pro at what he does. Don't hesitate to call him if you have appliance problems.

They are excellent electricians. They were great, clean work, on time and always in communication with the customer. Definitely I will recommend them to others.
