Part of a huge horror story created by a "general contractor" who had his head firmly planted you know where. We needed the "installation" corrected and completed so we could list our home for sale and we were very quickly running out of time. I called New Canadians because there's always a truck in the neighbourhood - they sent me help that arrived after I was done work - and he arrived 15 minutes earlier than expected. Booties on without me asking, very tidy and clean. An amazing change after last week when everything was a mess and filthy. I'm glad I was able to give him a chuckle as he reviewed the work done by the "contractor" - not a clue about how to install a sink - or faucet. He took it out, properly attached the faucet and soap dispenser and had it all done - except, the "contractor", in his crazy mess of mixed up electrical, plumbing and whatever had lost or thrown out one tiny piece that we needed for the Italian-made faucet. No way to get that part at 8 pm! That was all she wrote... or was it? How many professional tradesmen/women will wait around for you to find the item needing installation? Time is money, after all - and if they're not working during that time, they're not doing anything to make money. I came back from the hardware store with a COMPLETE faucet this time - all installed and working beautifully by 10 pm. I'm not saying that this was some unbelievable bargain - and it shouldn't be! These are professional, licensed trades and you get what you pay for - in this case, fast response, polite, clean, kind, generous - and with an understanding of what it's like to be stuck between a rock and a hard place and still didn't gouge me. New Canadians is now my go-to for all my plumbing from now on. And again, I know that perfect scores make people wonder - but you have to understand that I was beside myself with worry about how I was going to get everything done. By calling in professionals (which I should have done from the beginning), I was able to sleep better knowing that every thing that was done was done right. That peace of mind makes me want to score them even higher, but the ten will have to do.
