I hired Atlantic Van Lines to move my daughter and baby from Halifax to Alberta, we were quoted a reasonable price based on weight and distance. I was not impressed with the time to deliver but accepted the conditions. When the furniture arrived the wieght and bill was double what I was quoted, I refused the shipment and made arrangments with the office to have it weighed in Edmonton. The difference was 1900 pounds a difference in cost of aproximatly $2000. To make matters worse my husband and I had to go and pick the furniture up at he wearhouse in Edmonton and deliver it to my daughters home at our cost or waite another 2 weeks and pay an additional 500 for delivery. During the unpacking of the items we found that we were missing items and the dining room furniture was damaged as well as the baby's crib, total approximatly 2000. I submitted the insurance claim and was told my items were not valuable or enough weight to warrent an insurance claim so they were going to throw me a bone of a measly 75$ for my inconvenience. Do not trust this company, although the manager Anita was helpful the organization is not. You can rent self storage bins that can be dropped off, you pack them and they pick them up with your lock on them and deliver them to your home. I wish I would have known that was an option at the time of this move.

Approximate cost of services:
$4,000.00
